So last night my heart raced non stop and now off and on this morning. I’ve gotten 3 maybe 4 hours of sleep! I’m exhausted this will be a month and 6 days since the first panic attack and I have yet to stop having them
Hi Tanika,
I found my reaction and thoughts during a panic attack is what caused them. When you have a panic attack how do you react? Are you scared and have racing thoughts? If so it's hard but try to completely relax your body and your muscles. I find this helps to tell your brain it's reaction to the panic attack is incorrect.
Also don't try to stop the panic attack just try to accept them and let them do what they are going to do so you can continue your day. Once again I know this is difficult but have found it to help me considerably.
Yes I get extremely scared and try to do things to keep it from happening I have muscle aches behind them. Thank you I will try your method
My understanding is the anxiety starts from the fear of having an anxiety attack and the anxiety attack builds off the fear of it being something worse. If you can go from trying to stop the attack and being afraid of it to accepting it and know that it can't hurt you. You'll lose your fear of it and then anxiety loses it's power. This strategy helped me greatly I went from having an attack every day to having small episodes of panic once or twice a week.
