panic attacks

i sympathise, i had to practically run home this afternoon whilsout in local shops, feeling of just everyone and everything coming at you, noises just amplified its flight or fightresponse.  Now the added worry of worrying to go out in case these happen again, its all very well staying home but thats not healthy long term and not addressing the prob, find good coping strategies and stuff.

I get heart flutters which is scarey and worse, any suggestions be good thanks

Debi,

i do not suffer panic attacks so apart from offering my support if you need to talk and the assurance that you are safe, help is available and a visit to your GP if you have not done so already is probably for the best.

There is fantastic book written by a Dr Clair weeks, called self help for your nerves, she describes in detail all the symptoms of anxiety you have mentioned and how to cope with them. Good luck x

This is just how i feel, when i am in town, everything is so intense,i can't concentrate, what i do is try and sit still if possible and breathe to slow myself down,my instant reaction is to stay at home, but as you say it's not healthy and i can't isolate myself coz that makes it worse.

Facing fears is easy to say,but i find it makes me feel better when i'm able to work through the fear
