panic attacks

Is there something that I can do to stop my panic attacks!!! I have pain everywhere and I wake up with a rushing heart rate and feeling dizzy. It sucks!! I need help... I went to the Dr and they put me on different medications but they do not work, just make me dizzy and week. I have so much going on with my body when I am having a panic attack. Please help!!

Hi just try and relax I know it's hard as I've been there I'm on sertraline and take a beta blocker which really helps to take away the symptoms

I know how it feels to have pain all over n be convinced there's something seriously wrong with you.

I use Icy hot n Biofreeze n it helps a little.

Oh ok. I'm so scared of meds for this it's crazy. I had to get rushed to the hospital when I was prescribed something for my panic attacked. I don't remember what it was. I had a reaction to it and it was the worst feeling ever.

Try this:

Sit up straight in a chair, put a VERY LITTLE BIT of water in your mouth, and breathe only through your nose. This might help you calm down.

Have you seen a therapist?

Yes I have and she said that I have panic disorder.

Have you tried guided meditation?  You could find some free meditations on the internet to listen to?  Try to take 5-10 minutes a day to focus on doing so.  You don't like medications, have you looked into homeopathic remedies.  GNC or local health food store has herbs to take, like kava kava, valerian root.  You could ask them what is good for anxiety! Wish  you peace!

Stick in there. We are all in the same boat. I know you feel like your alone or that people don't understand. But they do and many suffer many worse symptoms and diseases. But there really is something to meditation. When symptoms arise try not to resist them, but welcome them, accept them gently. Don't say that this isn't normal and that its not meant to be happening. Because many people all over the world have anxiety disorder, panic attacks with horrible symptoms. But it's not the end of the world, although sometimes it may feel. Try the holistic approach and use natural remedies if possible and up your fruits and veggies. You're not alone. Show yourself love. To all of us in here, we are brave and courageous. have you tried CBT?

You have to change your lifestyle. Its not so simple, nor can there be immediate instant gratification.thats the first thing you must comes to term with.

CBT is also learning to use rational self talk.  When we are anxious, we have "what if" and other "catastrophic" thoughts going on in our heads that perpetuate our anxiety.  It will be helpful, but you have to learn to use it in your daily life.
