Fran,

Arethese the normal eGFR ranges for men? Where did you find this information?

Marj

Just everyone remember those numbers are for a person with TWO kidneys.

Right, good point!

Marj

Marj, I think that is why they are holding up the first comment I made, I included the site. These numbers are for healthy people, 18-90 years of age. No high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular or renal disease. They had all the ages but I only copied some. My hands hurt really bad today so I didn't want to type them all. I figured I would give the site but I think that's what messed up my post. I hope they desire to put it up.

I answered your post but it's not up. Yes, 2 kidney healthy people. I hope they most it because it's an awesome paper on a study done on 1660 males, 2072 females,869 of those were male and females over 65.

Are we not allowed to give sites?

I'm not sure on posting like to other sites. But if you give the authors' names and publication date I can probably find the study.

Marj

Just posted the numbers for women and they put up the one I re-typed.

I found it by typing NORMAL GFR BY AGE in the bar, you know what I mean.

Hi Fran

Do you know what the highest gfr you could expect to get with a single kidney? I have a single kidney and partially working kidney due to interstitial nephritis caused by a rare allergic reaction to antibiotics.

Thank you

Okey, thanks, Fran. I had found that article when looking after your initial post.

Marj

Yes, I know what you mean🐶

Hi Martin,

I haven't looked for those numbers yet but Rick might know the answer. Hopefully he'll come along and give you some information. In the meantime I'll see if I can find something. Having another bad day so I'll do what I can.

Martin,

I found an article that may have your answer, I can't access it because my tablet won't support the PDF. Not having very good days so I can't go up the stairs to use the computer.  It is called: Life with a Single Kidney fact sheet, on the site: KidneyDOTorg  au.

It mentions a single kidney MAY get 75%. Can't read the rest, have to download it but as I stated I'm unable. Sorry I can't do more to help you at this time.
