Partial Hip replacement on A

73 year old male who is 13 year Amputee Above the Knee with partial hip replacement in July 2016.  Until fall causing fracture I was very active Amputee working full time as a Tax Preparer Open year round.  I did well and finally  and went from on a walkeand Wheel chair because I had alot of experienc.  I progressed to a cane after I could start wearing my prosthetic leg with a computerized knee.  I took 30 days of PT  T in December right before Season started and was walking  without cane .  after alot of seating in Late January I began having pain in pain in my femure  and had to start using the cane again.  Now everytime I get up after sitting for a periord of time I experienced pain in the femure.  I am getting to the point now of having tremouspain.  I just took two blood test for SED RATE ESR results were good 16 mm/hr less 20 is good   That is the Red Blood Cell count.

The other test was CRP and it was a little highhigh at 0.7 mg/dl and shoud be less than .5

Waiting for meeting with Doctor to discuss test  results

Vascular surgeon and the Ortho Surgeon have all reviewed the new x-rays and agree that the hip and femur have healed  so there must be another reason for the pain.  Could be Lupus since I don't have Heart problems.  Has anyone else experienced something like this?

dear StPat,

warm welcome to the hippies forum ...

when did you see the doctors?  was it recently ?   some times xrays do not show everything, but I am assuming that your doctors would have done more tests if they were concerned ...

some pain and discomfort in femur can be expected since bone is growing into the hardware -

good luck and please come back to let us know trhe outcome of your doctors' visit-

big warm hug

renee

Thanks Renee01952,

Saw the Vascular Surgeron that did my ampution in 2004 and he looked at X-Ray and said everything looked OK but wanted me to see Orthopic Doctor.  I saw the ortho in May and he did all new x-rays and everything looked ok, but ordered the Blood Test wanting to see if there was any underlying issue.  ESP was good at 16, and the CRP count was 0.7 mg/ld which is higher than 0.05
