Partial Stomach removal and Gallbladder out.

Hello All.  I wonder if anyone can give me some advise.  In 2007 I had a partial stomach resection, when a large Gastro Intestinal Stromal Tumour (GIST) was found on the upper wall of my stomach. The GIST, which was classified as a low risk Sarcoma was removed successfully with clear margins, and I have had good aftercare ever since.  Then in 2009 I was taken into hospital again, this time with acute pain down my right side and and pain shooting across my stomach from the scar tissue (scar from brestbone to bottom of navel).  GIST was discounted this time, but was told I had Gallstones and need my Gallbladder out, this was done in 2010.  Every since the original diagnosis, i have taken Gastric medication, but I still vomit on a regular basis, and again have pais down my right hand side, starting just under the lower ribs.  I have recently seen my GP, who did blood tests.  The results are a bit of a worry, as my Liver functions were very high in both tests (over 5 times the normal level), but have dropped slightly this week.  However, yesterday, I started to vomit heavily, and feel really awful today.  (I rarely drink, follow a good diet, dont eat much bread).  Can anyone shed any possible light what could be the problem, whilst I wait for my appointment with the Liver specialists.   Thank You

Karen I would suggest you go back to doctor for all the answers to all your questions. And if doc can't answer them ask to be put in touch with some one who can!!!!GOOD luck! let me no how you get on!!!biggrin

Hi Roberta.  As I have not got any better in the past 24 hours, I made an appointment to see my GP this morning.  The outcome is, he has examined me, had not realised I had had my gallbladder removed, and has now said that he thinks that I probably have a stone in my bile duct.   The symptoms I have including the high liver functions all suggest this. (Am quite annoyed that GP did not notice the removal if the Gallbladder on my med notes though).

Hi karon thank goodness you went back to your doc!!!hopefully you can start working on feeling better with your doctor!!keep in touch on this site lots of encouragement and good helpful hintsfrown
