So I am 33, been dealing with anxiety my whole life and just recently started on Paxil a few days ago. However, my anxiety has shot through the roof as well as I am exhausted. Can't kick thoughts out of my head as well, very cyclical. I hear this is for the first couple of weeks, anyone else have similar experiences?
When I first started taking Paxil I didn't feel like myself. That weird feeling lasted about a week then tailed off. Your body should adjust to the Paxil. Give it a month and see if your feelings change.
Here's the best piece of advice I can give you or anyone with anxiety:
1) Accept you have anxiety. True acceptance will allow you to "float" or worry less about your anxiety. And when you worry less your body produces less adrenaline.
2) Never place a time limit on when you should recover. If it takes a year to rehabilitate so be it. Just like a broken bone takes time to heal, it takes time for your psyche and nerves to heal.

You need to allow the medication to work. Upwards of five weeks. If your GP wil want to see you in four weeks for a review it is then either the medication dose will be increased or a new one may be introduced. Your GP may increase the dose to working limits at four weeks.
Keep taking the suggested dose and see how you go next month
