I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 21 and I’m 27 now. I have never had regular periods in my life. Doctors say I don’t fit the appearence a woman with PCOS. I don’t have facial hair, not over weight, don’t have acne (don’t have perfect skin either) Only thing is these absent periods. At the most I have 4 a year. I just went to the doctor because I got my period but it lasted almost 3 months NON-STOP. It finally stopped on its own at the time of my visit. They did an ultra sound on me and they said everything looked good and my ovaries had no cyst (4 years ago at my last ultra another doctor said the same) she basically told me she didn’t know why my periods are that way and it may be my age (27) then of course she said she was putting me on Birthcontrol which I told her I was not going to take because that does not solve the problem it only covers it up. She was not helpful and just told me to either take the birthcontrol or deal with period. What should I do?? I am 27 and by no means am I trying to get pregnant tomorrow but I feel like birthcontrol will not help the situation as I get older so I wanted to get to the root of the problem and try to fix it there.. have an appointment with a new Doctor soon hopefully she is more helpful.. does anyone have any advice...
