Morning ladies,
I'm just after some advice. Has anyone had any experience with those electronic pelvic floor exercisers? Even though I saw a physio pre op and she showed me how to do them, I've you tubed it, read about it.... I'm still not convinced I'm doing them right!
I saw on Amazon there's an electric one which has got amazing reviews.
Have any of you tried one post surgery? If so, what's your opinion?
Thank you in advance you lovely lot π
Hello, I had a grade 1 cystocele, which was diagnosed looking for other causes of my pain. I paid to see a urogynacologist, i told him I had purchased an electronic pelvic floor toner( I cant say which one but it has a number at the end). He said that it was a very good investment and to use it every day as if it was part of my life and that I could possibly reverse it but would definately stop it getting worse. I have had to take a break from it as i have had surgery ( bowel resection). I did notice a difference and cant wait to get back to using it again. I would defo reccomend it as you have nothing to lose. A lot of us dont know if we are doing kegal!!! exercises correctly this does it all for you its easy to use. I hope this helps. xx
Interested in this too, if you get any feedabck please post
I have one resting.if you pm me I can give you the website and name of it. I will be using it after my ant repair hun.never want to have this again.fed up of bulges hahahππ
I bought one Resting a long time ago in the hope it would prevent surgery. The Urogynaecologists I worked with told me not to raise my hopes and they were right, it didn't work.
Lol... Such mixed reviews! I've had a look at the website welshgirl and the reviews look promising there too BUT such a lot of money to spend if it does nothing as matron found. Even more confused now! ππ³
Yes hun its a lot to pay.. Trial and error I suppose, but I think it does help strengthen. Have you seen a physio about what's best? I'll be using my toner after healing, not going through this
Againπ
Don't be put off if the reviews are good and you want to try. Not everything works for everyone, we are all different.
Hi,
I haven't seen anyone since I had my op end of November. I've got my post op consultation early next month so I'm going to ask the surgeon what he thinks but I just wanted to know what ladies thought of them who have experienced a prolapse.
I think tbh that I am going to get one as I don't think I'm doing them right and it would give me piece of mind.
I'm going to look into getting one that you mentioned so thank you
X
Thank you Sarah.
Like you say, its really difficult to know if we are doing them right! I think I'm going to invest in one just for my own piece of mind that something might be working with it lol
X
Your welcome hun.. I'm the same if I'm honest I'm didn't do them after my 2 babiesπ naughty me but they never mentioned them
Like today.. Oh well we live and learn.x
Hi, Just saw this post! I am seeing a Physio Specialist. 2X now. Have 8 Apts booked. Get hooked up to a machine that measures my contractions every time. Im getting the feel of it now.
I am getting pretty good results with just doing the excercises. Not great but its only been a few weeks. Trust your instincts and the feel of the excercise. Take your time, even though its time consuming. I feel overall its better for the body. You are engaging your breathing and muscles. It takes time to build the muscles so Im trying to be patient. But starting to be more aggresive with the Kegal squeezes as I want to see results. No one has mentioned any machinery to me. the biggest difference Ive noticed is I dont have to slather on petroleum jelly to prevent chaffing hardly anymore as the Prolapse rarely protrudes.
Dont know if its going to be a cure all but I like the basic results so far.

You have brought up something I've been talking (or writing) about for a long time on this forum and that's seeing a specialist physiotherapist measuring the strength of your pelvic floor muscles. It is probably the only way to ensure you're doing the exercises correctly otherwise it can be a complete waste of time and there are many Urogynaecologists who agree. Ladies think that watching a video or reading about it is sufficient, but it isn't and that's why more and more Urogynaecologists have specialist physiotherapists working alongside them. The service is available on the NHS and referral is through a GP. I hope it really helps your roxigrl.
Wow, thank you for this.
Roxigrl how did you find the physio? Is it private or through NHS? I went to see one before surgery and she 'felt' as I was doing the exercises and confirmed that I was doing them right but I'm still not convinced?! I like the thought of something that actually tests if you are doing them if that makes sense? Something I can actually see?
I've said already that I see my surgeon week after next for my post op so I'm going to quiz him about it.
Matron, thank you once again π I have no idea if my surgeon was a urogynae or just a normal gynaecologist? I wouldn't know how to find out?? But I know I'm impressed lol X
It's very easy to find out if your consultant is a Urogynaecologist. If you pm me his name I'll tell you, that's if you want to know of course. To be honest I'd be very surprised if he wasn't.
