Penile rash of some sort. Maybe balanitis?

ive had this on going rash for quite some time now, the tip of my penis is inflamed and red, there is a shiny rash under my foreskin, and redness/bumps pretty much all over the head. the only thing i can think of that might have caused/worsened this is going down a slip and slide with dish soap on it causing a breakout and never really got better. ive been to the doctors multiple times, they prescribe me clotrimazole and it never fully goes away. redness/irritation severity comes and goes. mostly out of the shower its pretty bad and i just dont know what to do anymore ive had it for so long it made my confidence go wayy down and i would love to fond out what this is and to fix it.

You need something other than the clotrimazole - you are likely to need at least a mild steroid ointment to help the skin to heal and recover. A Dermatologist can help you with this.
The doctor is most likely linking this to sexual activity or / and poor penile hygiene.
Yes the slip slide escapade could have caused this - but your penile skin may have had something going on with it prior to this.
.

  • are you sexually active at the moment, if so do you use a condom
  • when you shower you MUST NOT apply soap or shower gel to your penis until the skin is completely healed
  • never place any HOT water on your penis either when washing or in the shower
  • when did you first notice the symptoms?

hello thanks for the reply, not sexually active, do use condoms when I am. have had this issue for as long as i can remember.. gets better and worse. havent used soap on genitals in a while, recently stopped using hot water in the shower. the penile head gets really sensitive and hurts when theres contact with my underwear or pants. there is small bumps kinda looks like papules along the glans. tried a lot of ointments. have no idea what it could be..

John, I think you are in the territory where you need to consider the less likely, or more unusual explanations.
So when you make a comment about your underwear, there could be a potential clue going on.
So, for starters you need at least several towels that ONLY you would use to dry yourself after a shower or following washing your penis. If you do gym visits or any other sports activities that involves you getting a shower, again, you need your own towels for these also.
Get yourself some Liquid Soap Flakes from the Supermarket and you use this instead of what you currently wash your clothing and towels in. Wash ALL your underwear and your personal towels, and any sports shorts in the liquid soap flakes from now on. NEVER add any other additives to this wash, such as fabric conditioner and suchlike. Here is some other stuff:

  • a Dermatologist that specialises in Genital Skin Conditions / Disorders may be a really useful medic for you to visit
  • can you be a bit more precise about when this first started for you?
