I have noticed red spots on the tip of my penis. I don’t feel any pain or itching but I had sex a clue of months ago. Any idea on what it is?
Dear john,
The ‘red spots’ you’re referring to are coronal papillae and are a normal part of penile anatomy. They can occasionally look redder and more prominent if, like any part of your skin, it’s irritated- e.g. rubbing, friction, masturbation, allergy, infection etc.

How do I get rid of them? If I stop irritating it will it go away? Sometimes I don’t even see it
If you can afford it, there are dermatologists happy to laser them away, Most men are happy to live with them and aren’t bothered by their appearance- as you’ve noted yourself, they come and go.
If you can identify the ‘trigger/s’ that make them red and obvious, then you can better deal with the condition.

If it is an infection what could it be?
