I had this issue in the past where after a really good masturbation, one side of my penis head was more sensitive to touch than the other - when touched, it was a bit like a tiny needle like pain. I stopped masturbating for like 3 months and eventually it healed itself. A year later and it's happened again, it occured after a really horny masturbation session because i was sexting a girl. It's hard to describe the feeling, it's fine touching the head over my foreskin but as soon as i pull my foreskin back and touch the right side of my head, it feels different than the left side, the left side is fine, but the right side when touched, produces a needle like pain. If you continue to touch it touch for a few seconds, the pain goes away but then if you touch it again in a few minutes, the needle-like pain comes back. Because of this, i haven't masturbated again in about a month and a half as i'm really unsure what the problem is. Is it just over sensitivity on one side? Is it nerve ending damage? Should i continue not masturbating? I wouldn't even call it painful, it just feels different... like uncomfortable maybe... Any help would be appreciated.
Hi, this is an interesting issue that you have. Really, there are two approaches to dealing with this, either go see a medical professional and they could arrange for you to see a urologist for example and have any relevant checks carried out, such as blood flow using ultrasound.
Alternatively, which I guess is what you have done anyway, is the natural approach, allowing whatever is taking place to heal itself. I prefer the natural approach of abstaining from masturbation - and of course this is fine as long as your penis has the healthy look that it has always had and there are no signs of a lack of blood flow in the penis, particularly to the glans / head - which should always have a natural healthy look to it.
In terms of masturbation, the key issues are the amount of time it is erect, the amount of force or pressure you are applying, and, whether or not you are using any aids to retain an erection, such a a ring or strap at the base of penis.
What I would suggest is that you learn about basic massage techniques and get yourself an oil that will not cause harm to the skin of your penis, as you are going to need to use massage on a regular basis to gain any benefit.
In most basic terms, massage is about application of light pressure on the skin with your fingers and movement across and with the skin. This certainly is not anything like masturbation, and the goal is not to give yourself sexual pleasure. I would suggest getting some liquid Coconut Oil, and the best time to use it is after a warm or hot shower, or if your groin region is warm when you get out of bed you can also do it then.
Apply a light coating of the oil - you can try different movements, and, when the penis is relatively flaccid or partially erect. I would suggest you do NOT do this when you have an actual erection, as any additional pressure you apply may undo the benefits you are trying to achieve.
So it is the regularity of massage that is important - you may need to set-aside 3 or 4 times a week when you do this, or as I say, after you have taken a shower. The essential is, this is not something you rush through, the body must be relaxed for benefit to occur. Don’t worry if you feel nothing much is going on, particularly after the first few weeks - when, all you are doing really is learning how to use manipulation with your fingers to enable healing benefit to occur. As I say, you will not notice any difference overnight - you have already used masturbation abstention for several months at a time, so massage benefit will ONLY occur once you have mastered a technique that works for you and you use this at least 3 or 4 times a week and do this consistently for 6, 8 or 9 months for real benefit to take place.
If you have spare recreational time, you could look to do Yoga or Pilates as both are really good for all-round body movement and health, this will certainly help you if you have a blood flow minor issue or the sensitivity of your nerves in your penis are being disrupted by what is happening elsewhere in the body.
Forgot the issue of tight fitting clothing, you need to consider whether you have tight-fitting underwear, or wear something like tight jeans or trousers that you wear on a regular basis.
Constant restriction may not show in blood flow issues but can impact on the nervous system.
Competitive cyclists can get issues like this, they wear tight fitting sports shorts, and natural movement is restricted for a number of hours at a time. People doing regular gym workouts can also get these issues, such as sitting on a rowing machine or a static bike, for example …
