Penis rash from last two months. Really scared :(

I have noticed this pink rash on penis glans 2 months ago. Initially I thought it will go away on its own but after few weeks it didn't go away. instead a new rash or lesion type thing started to grow. after that i visited a dermatologist he gave me some medicines for both bacterial and fungal infection. it's been 2 weeks I'm taking these medicines and applying cream on it so far there is no change. As in one of the photo you can see at the base of glans there was scaly skin formed. only that skin is smoothened in two weeks. everything else is as it is. Also 4-5 days ago one more lesion appeared it was burning a lot and also itching. with cream it has soothed but not completely gone. what exactly is this? has anybody had this? how did you got rid of it? I'm so scared of it being penile cancer. I'm thinking of using CBD oil or RSO oil(if i get it) now. has anyone used cannabis oil for penis rashes? what was the result?

Okay, the best person to help you is the dermatologist you have seen. Continue to use the medications as directed. Contact the dermatologist and update them on what you have going on now. It is likely you may need to try other medications until the right one is found to deal with what you actually have going on. DO NOT simply try something else such as the oils you mention - it is totally unpredictable what the reaction would be if you applied anything that you were not prescribed, and, could make your penile skin problems much worse

Thank you for suggestion. I already visited another dermatologist n he gave me some strong antifungal tablets n miconazole cream. i also took a blood test for herpes (as suggested by dermatologist) the reports will come in 2-3 days. I'm taking the medicines n applying the cream from 1 day n noticed a little change, hopefully this works for me..

So, work with this dermatologist until this is sorted for you. Use the medication as directed, often topical applications need to be used for 2 weeks to judge whether the are going to bring improvement or not. Update your Forum Post here if you have further issues

Today I got the result of my blood test and herpes test. I showed them to my dermatologist. He said blood test is normal and Herpes test is also normal. He told me keep using the miconazole cream for 2 more weeks and if the problem don't resolve or improve then biopsy needs to be done.

So far from last 7 days of using miconazole I've notice a little improvement with the dryness of the skin but no change with the red/pink patch. Hopefully it gets better in 2 weeks.

I'm scared of biopsy. Has anyone done it before? Does it pain? Does it leave any scar on penis after biopsy?

I have a very similar issue at the base of the glans. I just saw a dermatologist at a top tier university hospital and he was confident as this had no pain or itching that there was nothing serious. He said biopsy would not even cross his mind.

Diagnosis is idiopathic balanitis. No fungal or bacterial reason, likely irritation + stress. I was on ketoconazole 2mg cream and he told me to discontinue it.

Aquaphor was his only reco. He recommended leaving it alone and keep it clean. FYI, I am circumsized.

Hope this helps.

Hey Eric, Thanx for your reply. one of my best friend is a doctor, he is orthopaedic surgeon. I showed him the photos, just to see what he thinks. He told me its a fungal infection and sometimes it takes a 10-12 weeks to get rid of it. As, I've seen slight improvement in last seven days. He said if it doesn't itch, burn and not growing then don't worry about it. it'll go away on its own. just keep eye on it.

So far the most similar photos I've seen to my issue is only in 2 threads on this forum, one is yours and there is one more similar thread on this forum about this thing.

I'm also circumcised, that's why I'm worried about it is being something serious.

Hopefully it get resolved.

Biopsy is not a problem - it is like getting an injection, slightly painful to start with but nothing to be concerned about - simply keep it clean and it will fully heal in 4 to 8 days

Right now I'm cleaning it twice a day with lukewarm water. once during shower in the morning n second before going to bed. after cleaning with water, I try to make it completely dry by slowly dabbing cotton on it so that all the moisture is removed.

I apply miconazole after cleaning, as told by my dermatologist.

I'm also abstaining from masturbation, does that help in healing?

When it's dry it is quite difficult to see it, but when i apply cream or oil on it then it shows that bright pink colour.

Yes, avoiding masturbation for as long as you can is most helpful ...

The pink/red rash has become very faint now. but my glans skin is very dry n kind of scaly. what is this? It doesn't itch or anything but its very dry n scaly n kind of peeling. 😟 imageimage imageimage

Your penile skin is in a very unhealthy state - it would be best for you to work with one of the Dermatologists that you have had contact with. The process of getting your skin back to a healthy state could take an extended period of months. A correct strength steroid ointment would greatly help this process and a dermatologist would be the ideal specialist to determine the best one to use

Yesterday during shower when i was cleaning it, that part of skin peeled off completely on its own.

2 days before that i kept my penis completely dry and clean as you always suggest to everyone. at the end of two days at night the skin looked like that in above photos. I got scared and applied miconazole cream and went to bed. next morning during shower when i was cleaning, the skin peeled off on its own. I think the fungal infection is gone because of keeping it dry and later I applied miconazole.

Anyway the red patch is still there sometimes it is faint and sometimes it is dark red, i think dark red is usually in the morning cuz of morning erection.

I have appointment with dermatologist on next Monday. Till, then I will just keep it dry n clean. my dermatologist told me to keep using miconazole till Monday but i don't think it's helping at all for that red patch.

It's been over a month I'm using different antifungal creams. Initially suggested by first dermatologist and then this current one I'm seeing these creams had made no difference to red patch at all.

Hope it get resolved soon.

Thank you for the further detail. Please update your Forum Post here after you have seen the Dermatologist ....

I'm experiencing similar problems.

how's your situation now? Do you have any pains while urinating? Do you have any issues with urine flow?

I visited urologist 6 days ago, for my hemorrhoid and i also showed him my penis rash. he gave me "clobetasol propionate + clotrimazole + neomycin sulphate cream" this cream is a combination of steroid, antifungal and antibacterial infection. as it's a steroid cream he told me to apply it twice for 7-8 days.

whenever i apply cream the redness becomes a little faint. but the problem is in last 7 days i masturbated for 3 times in 3 days days. so the redness came back as soon as i masturbated.

Right now from last 3 days I'm in nofap mode till this gets resolved.

even though my penile skin looked worse in above photos(which is healed now except red rash) I had no pain at all no pain on the rash, no itching, no pain with the urine flow as well.

Also around a week ago i had a electric shock like pain from my penis tip to my anus region. I googled my symptoms and talked with my doctor friend it was similar to "perineal neuralgia" he gave me some medicines for neurological treatment and told me to do pelvic floor exercises. In three days that pain was gone. n never came back.

So, to answer your question I never had any pain from my red rash and the dry skin as seen in above photos. also so far I have no pain for the urine flow as well.

Thanks.. That clears it and makes me believe we both have different problems altogether.. I have redness +pain + swelling +urination issues.. I'll go to doctor and figure it out today..

Okay, Make a forum post here about your issue, as it will help others as well. Best

Hey wee_Dugie I went to urologist a month ago to show my hemorrhoid and I also showed him my penis rash. He prescribed me "clobetasol propionate + clotrimazole + neomycin sulphate cream". I used this cream for 14 days and then stopped for 1 week and then again used for 1 week. but so far there is no change in the rash. how long does it take for steroid creams to get rid of rashes? are there any side effects of steroid cream using long term? Also sometimes my glans gets very dry. looks like this nightmare is not ending for me anytime soon. 😣😣
