Penis Skin infection

Over the past 5 days, my penis skin has been peeling off. The skin is red and tender, which is painful sometimes. Not sure if this is some form of skin infection, friction or something else? Please help.

Are you sexually active at the moment, or / and have you been masturbating regularly?
To enable the skin to recover you must abstain from masturbation and sex until this is completely healed.
It is likely that this has occurred due to the skin being in contact with something that it has had a severe reaction to, or perhaps, this could be a combination of things.
Think of everything that is in contact with the skin on your penis: this is typically a list like soap, shower gel, any form of Lube for sex or / and masturbation, skin cream or lotion for hydration and / or masturbation or sex. Many men use soap and things like shampoo for masturbation when they shower - you need to think of anything that the skin can react adversely to, AND STOP applying ALL of them!
When you wash you penis you will need to be very careful when you do this so as not to distress the skin any further. Wash with water only and ensure you completely dry the distressed skin by patting it dry with a clean dry towel that ONLY you use
Need to know whether you are sexually active to advise any further … ?

Thanks for your reply and advice. Yes, I am sexually active and have been masturbating regularly.

If you had unprotected penetrative sex or received oral immediately before this began you may have a severe fungal or bacterial infection, or potentially both.
If this is potentially the case for you contact one of the larger Sexual Health Services in your area or a GUM Clinic at a local General Hospital if you are in the UK
