Perimenapause bleeding but possibly pregnant

I have just turned 50 and have always had regular periods.this month though, I have been bleeding every day,not heavy though. I had a pregnancy test and it shows up as positive.further blood tests confirm a hcg reading of 150. My Dr thinks I'm miscarriaging but should it take this long? I've had two pelvic scans and they are clear. I'm waiting to see if my next hcg reading has gone down. I'm stressing about it.does anyone have advice? Thank you.

Hi Suzanne yes It must seem like forever waiting on results so if they say you had a misscarriad but are you in a lot of pain with it ?and if still bleeding go back ask them what's going on ask for answers etc no shouldn't take long go back to doctors

So have they scanned your womb as this should give them a good indication if you are miscarrying

Yes they should if scan womb please go and ask them to do this you need to ask questions

I have had scans but no sign of pregnancy, possibly due to being too early to see.no not in any pain.ive had very mild cramping but that's all.bleeding has pretty much stopped now so just waiting for hcg result this week.

I've had 2 miscarriages one early one late my blood levels where still high for a few days after and the bleeding should tale off as like a normal period. As nothing was present I would assume that you had already lost Hun. Hopefully your settle soon x

You should go back to your doctor and have them scan your womb if you are miscarriaging to see what is going on. Never been pregnant but this is my advice to you.

Oh I'm so sorry for your loss, dear! I hope you're feeling better soon. I've never miscarried but my sister has had four miscarriages so I know how devastating it can be. Take care.
