Hi all anyone else getting stomach/indigestion/ burping issues ??
YES. Never had stomach problems before this peri hell started.
Hi Klm
Yes I had stomache issues ever since my Peri menopause, bloating , acid reflux , ugh terrible
Yes! Especially the bloating and terrible bloating. Had to give up coffee, that used to set it off.
Hi Kate, im 2 yrs menopausal and have had bloating/ gas/ burping for at least 2 yrs. been tested for various nasties, nothings shown up so calling it ibs. Happens on full stomach, empty stomach, triggered by various foods. When the gas is bad up to my sternum I also get heart flutters which used to freak me out but now seems obviously linked to gas (irritating vagus nerve?).
Hi there , yes I have as well had stomache issues for years because of the peri but now that that menopause is getting closer I find I’m even more bloated and burping and gassy . I drink a lot of water daily like 3-4 big glassss and have cut a lot of fats out of my diet now . When I cook something I always use olive oil now in stead of butter or margarine or any other oils . I am finding it helps me a lot with .
Good luck and best wishes to ya :-)
Hi Kate
You should see a GI and tell them you want to get tested fir HPYLORI
Hi Kate!
Yes. I have had severe acid reflux disease for 10 years now. Am 45 years old. My acid reflux has been under control, with an occasional night of discomfort from something I ate, with my daily Nexium that I take at night. I have had 2 big flare ups now, one a few months ago that lasted a few weeks. I ended up not only having to take my Nexium, but Zantac and tums, just so I could get relief. One day, it just stopped and went back to normal. These past 4 days it has shown its ugly face again. I have acid from my throat down to my stomach and I am even having Diarrhea that burns like acid. I have flare ups from certain things that I eat sometimes, but I usually take my meds and go to bed, and it’s gone by morning. I am laying here in bed right now and I can feel acid in my throat and chest. I’m afraid that this must be another symptom to add to my menopause list. Hopefully this one won’t last as long as the last one. I drink lots of water, eat apples and chew spearmint gum and these really help.
Feel better!
Laura
YES lots of burping
I take tums. And I eat lots of yogurt.
Hi Kate, definitely. I never used to be a windy person but this has affected my stomach and bowels aswell!
Thank you Laura for some really helpful advice. I hope it passes for you soon xx
hi Kate, yes, I have the burping too. I was 52 in November. Went to doc three years ago when it started and he did some bloods also and discovered low iron so I was sent for a lovely upper GI endoscope - which thankfully was fine, he never once suggested it could be caused by the lead up to the menopause. Docs just don't seem to see the whole picture so much of the time.
Yup count me in on this one. I never had a problem at all until peri. Ugh. Praying it all gets better. Hugs.
Yes!! I am awake now at 3 a.m. on my birthday, no less! Although I will admit I must have eaten too freely over the past couple of days...real ice cream w brownie bits in it...I think is what got me. I had gallbladder removed last year so I'm guessing today that's what's causing my distress...too much junk with fat in it!
But generally since being in peri my gut has a tendency to be rumbly on a daily basis. Then I'll be ok for a month and it will hit again seemingly out of nowhere. But I do notice that when ever I get the queasiess and rumb Las is usually followed by a flow within a couple of days. After that ,tummy calms down.
I think it's all hormonal. Feel better and try not to worry too much!
