Perimenopause hairless solution

Hi Ladies

I recently posted about my hair thinning and have been taking kelp supplements as recommended by one of the ladies.

I saw my doctor this week and she recommended zinc and silica tablets.  She said I would see results in about 2 months.

She also recommended a thickening shampoo but suggested the supplement route first.

Thought I would post the zinc and silica tablets for those ladies like me who are experiencing hairloss  as a symptom of perimenopause.  Btw Dr confirmed hairloss  is a symptom of perimenopause.

Hello Sydney Mum,

When my periods stopped for 5-6 months I lost 70% of my hair. I then started taking natural progesterone and hair loss stopped (almost immediatly) and periods returned. I'm now on bioidentical HRT.

This is my experience.

Take care.Teresa.

PS zinc and silica are beneficial anyway.

I would try taking FOOD GRADE DIATOMACOUS EARTH. Google it and you will find people who use it specifically for hair and ails and have incredible results!

Thanks for this advice health shop visit tomorrow for me 😉

Hi Teresajs

Thank you for your comment. You must have been so shocked with hairloss. I know I am. In fairness, I have not experienced as much as you, but in last two months, I ve noticed my hair thinning (and I used to have fine hair but lots and lots of it) and every time I wash my hair, I lose a few strands and my bathroom floor is permanently littered with a hair or two of mine. I feel like my cat... moulting, but permanently!

As my periods are still monthly, although vary greatly from 30 days apart to 25 days apart, and my night sweats and increased anxiety are still manageable, I for the moment am coping without HRT, but that door is open for me if my symptoms get worse or become unbeareable.

Thanks for your reply.

ps..I saw a clearly post menopausal lady at the pharmacy yesterday with the thickest natural head of hair I have ever seen and inwardly growled at the unfairness of menopause!

Hi Italianmama

I love your name!

Thank you for the tip! I did just that...seems an amazing all round health product for especially aging gals and a weight loss agent too! I did read it has silica in it which is the component for hair and nails...

I am delighted to see its an Aussie product so will be able to get easily at health food store...which I will be visiting today!

Thanks heaps for the tip!

HI Sara

See my reply above to Italianmama...check in your health store for the diatomaceous earth product, as it has so many heath benefits other than just silica which is the main vitamin you need. I reckon it will not hurt taking both...not forgetting Zinc as well.

Btw I notice the d.earth product also helps fade age spots. YAY...I developed light melasma (like freckles) on my forehead and sides of cheeks as first symptom of perimenopause and nothing I mean nothing has helped (hydroquinone, laser...All faded initially, only to return). My own googling told me what no dermatologist did...which is that perimenopause and hormone fluctuations can cause skin discoloration (age spots) and melasma (never had it even when preganant) so Italianmama's tip has many many benefits. THANKS Italianmama!!!

Best of luck in halting the hair loss....aghhhhh

HI Sara

My longwinded reply is being moderated apparently. Don't know why.

Anyway, had suggested taking Italianmama's supplement as it had so many other benefits other than silica including weight loss and fading age spots.

Good luck!

Hi SM,

Don't be sad: it's just the hormonal imbalances you're going through. I understan perfectly what you decribe because I felt exatly like that, it seemed I was on chemoherapy!

X Teresa.
