Still have a rough time. Still have a horrible bacteria that will not leave that I got after surgery and medications I am on send me silly and the chills and sweats and nausea bad. It won't leave my system
Last week i have not been able to use my bowels properly as I'm not allowed to take anything to help me go as it interacts with medication.
My perineal now is in so much pain when I walk I cry when I pass urine I cry.
It's burning and so sore. I'm tired of doctors not caring and not helping. My groin area is always in pain and I'm feeling so ill. I had a blood test the other day all came back good so there not concerned but it's 5 weeks and I feel worse than I did when I left hospital the first time.
Please someone tell me what is going on the pain is so bad. Why is my perineal so tender and burning.
aww Debra you poor thing. I am sure matron will give you some good tips when she is next on here. I have read people have poured water over the area as they urinate or even have a bath to urinate, that may help some? People have said to use cold packs also. I think drink lots and even try cranberry.
I am sorry to hear that the GP is not giving you the support you need, is it possible to see another GP at the surgery?

I've been like you one infection after another finally got to see a Dr that listened, got prescribed gyno daktorin cream which has helped, I do sympathize with you as I had that pain too which went on for over a week (the only description I can give as if someone is trying to cut you with a sharp knife) I'm week 6 now and the pain has eased around that area hope I've helped a little
Yes it does feel like a knife slicing me and burning me hope I can some of that cream to relieve it.
This bacteria in which doctor would not tell me the name (e-coli) was mentioned that's all I got.its growing rapid in my body As I went of medication as doctor ordered as they were making me unwell and he didn't start me till another 6 days later to start a new one which is horrible to be on but wishing it will work 7 days in I feel the same.
Again I think I'm exhausted and feel like I have no energy to get my point across to the doctor.
My Dr told me to add paracetamol as they help more than we think,bless you I'm hoping it's worth it too but reading lots of posts on here I'm looking forward to the 12week mark.although it feels a long way off
You are welcome Debra, this forum is just fab I think. It certainly has helped me during my recovery, I'm 14 weeks post op a&p repair and something else which I can't remember the term of at the minute but it was a hoist up of the womb. I had my dark days and the kind words and advice on here have got me through. It's great having the experience of other ladies who have been through the same thing, seems like great advice from Melons below. Hope you get sorted soon and find a good doctor. Best wishes Sue x
Hi Debra. Sorry you're having so much pain and problems post op. I was told that paracetamol, (panadol) with my Tramadol help them work better. Not much good on there own in my experience though. If you have E coli, that's probably why you feel so ill. It's always present in our bowels apparently but the surgery may have allowed it outside the body too. Have you been checked to see if there was any intestinal damage done during the surgery? Good idea to ask your doctor that question. I find that eating live yogurt everday improves bm's! Also you can buy probiotics from Holland and Barret in capsule or tablet form, these help to replace the natural flora in your body to fight infections like you have. Canesten with hydrocortisone cream should help with soreness and pain too, available without prescription from chemists. All this from my own experiences in the past, I'm 73 and have had umpteen similar problems over the years. I now have to decide whether to go ahead and have surgery for vaginal vault prolapse! It's a big deal for me as I have OA in spine and most other joints and the operating table causes me many problems for too. (Positions on it)! They did tell me the bacteria I have but due to tablets I'm on send me in another world all they kept saying it is a nasty horrible bacteria that is very hard to get rid off. Only a limited of medications actually kill it but it has attacked my kidneys and so on so I'm in pain a lot
I do tell everyone who needs this operation done to get it,as I know in the long run it will make life easier and comfortable for all.
I'm the low percentage that got this bacteria I have doctors appointment end of week so I have a list of questions to ask and for him to explain how this bacteria has got into me. It's slowed my recovery right down

Hi Debra. I'm so sorry to hear you have this bacteria, it's always a likely hood with any surgery I believe but not that frequent so it's bad luck you've got it I'm afraid. Hope you get some better results soon. Just try to rest as much as poss in the meantime, it does help. I'm still debating whether to have the prolapse done. Been in touch with Matron as she's so helpful with these things. I'm going to wait awhile and see if my arthritis flairup improves and maybe have it done later in the year. I had ecoli infection in bladder after AP repair 6mths ago. It was found when I was sent to lab to submit MSU. Had 1wk course of antibiotics. Have had 3 re-check MSU's which have all come back clear now. I had thrush as well which I don't remember ever having in the past. Hope you can get sorted soon. You don't maybe fully understand what is going on either which won't be helping the worry of it all. Is it vaginal bacterial infection and not in bladder?
I was bleeding a lot after surgery from bladder as catheter bag was blood,doctor had thought they stitched my bladder in surgery. I went back in operating theatre 2 weeks later and no stitch in bladder,as when they took catheter out I was in a lot of pain after many attempts and then they found a bacteria. It started in bladder and I was in hospital for 2 days having antibiotics thru drip and came home with medication which I had to stop due to making me very ill
Normally 1-2 doses of antibiotics clears infection as there large doses so they said stop medication went following week to have urine test that came up positive with bacteria and urgently needed to start a medication finished that but still ill cannot pass urine without crying and kidneys in a lot of pain had blood test all good but get my new urine test results in a day. I feel quite ill. Doctor said a very bad bacteria is in my system and they caught it late it might take a long time to kill it.
Sorry for rant but I have a understanding on what's happening it's just emotional. Healing is slow due to bacteria slowing it down and few other problems in between think I'm so exhausted and over pain

Oh gosh you've had a rough time. I was pretty sure by 1wk post op that I had infection. But didn't ring Specialists Nurse till 5wk mark. I joined here instead! I was confused as to what sort of discharge I should be having. Plus had urine leaking all the time. But didn't have usual UTI symptoms. Wonder what bug yours is. I wanna give you a hug ☹️
