I'm 4 weeks post op posterior repair and still have stitches in my perineum. They make sitting and wearing certain underwear uncomfortable. Every day I get an mirror and anxiously check but are still there. I wondering how long other ladies lasted?

Mine took aprox 12 weeks to disolve
I had my 7 week follow up and some of mine ate still in. Consultant said they can take up to 6 months eeekkkk.
not happy reading this post...but if it needs to be, it needs to be. I just hope it all works.
Sounds like a long time... but I suppose the real problem is the location.
Do you mean they are all inside vagina or some on outside beside vag opening, like sometimes after giving birth?
Yes I had a perineum repair as well. I understand the internal last a long time just trying to gauge what the normal length of time is for external ones
Yes correct, internal longer to dissolve. Are external ones dissolving ones too? When is your post-op check?
I don't really think as I still see them. I couldn't get into post op check till 8 week so not till nov 14.
Hi I am 5 weeks post posterior repair and tvt, I had perineal stitches x 2 to my absolute horror! I had the nurse take them out 1 week post op as dr said external stitches could come out in one week. Huge relief, they just assist the repair they aren't fundamental to it I think. Sitting on glass was horrendous, good luck luck, it does improve.
P.s. External stitches will not dissolve - only internal ones will, this is because they are designed to dissolve by the moisture inside, externally exposed to air they are dry and need to be removed, as far as j can understand anyway. Hope this helps, don't suffer for long time with these perineal ones.
