Persistent left lower abdo pain...any suggestions please?

Hello, my first post here but in need of some advice please?

Thursday morning I noticed a little grumble of a pain, more an irritant in my left side of abdo.  Not enough to take painkillers or be worried - just thought slept funny or a bit of wind (my parent is unwell currently so I have not been having the best of diet, running back and to and not being able to plan meals as her condition is terminal and she isn't local to me). Didn't notice it much that day thereafter.

Friday - nothing of note until later in the evening when it was more localised to my left lower abdomen about half way down from my belly button and half way between belly button and hip and became sharp. Woke me overnight to the point that every move I made it was painful and I didn't get much sleep.

Saturday - very painful. Painful to put weight on left foot, cough, laugh, persistent pain and have taken cocodamol, have had no sleep overnight and getting little relief from the painkillers.

January 2015 had similar episode but on the right side - was admitted for couple of investigations all of which excluded anything ovarian and appendix.  Not given much of diagnosis other than my GP suggesting could be IBS or could be diverticulitis.

This is same pain but other side.  Have appt for GP tomorrow.  Bowels are open OK (as they were previously) with no change in habit.  No nausea or anything else of note.

thanks in advance x

It looks to be mild chronic gastritis. You have to go for endoscopy.

Possible IBS if you have had stress and the pain moves all over your stomach and painkillers give little relief.  Try keeping a food diary to check for food intolerance or try peppermint tea to see if it soothes your stomach.  You could also try over the counter Buscopan.

Well I am glad that it was not your ovaries or the appendix.  Hope things work out.
