I am due to have one of those round rubber things inserted on the 25th September and am unsure how things will go. Could anyone tell me if it is painful and what it is really like.
Bianca, it's no worse than having a smear test. Once it's in you shouldn't really feel it, as long as the fit is right. I had a larger one inserted by my gynae a few days ago as previous one was too small. Try not to take any notice of how big it looks, it doesn't hurt!!
Good luck :0)
Hi bianca, don't worry, this doesn't hurt. I had one inserted, then walked home as I live 5 minutes from the hospital, the only problem with me was it fell out before I got home!when I next saw the consultant next he suggested an op which was fine. Good luck, many people find these work ok.
I found it didn't work for me. I was desperate to avoid surgery, but ended up having an anterior repair, which, so far, has been brilliant. I hope it works for you, but please be reassured it is not painful, and if it works, I hope it will make you feel normal again.
