Curing phimosis is about being able to retract the foreskin over the glans. But it’s not clear to me how exactly do we determine when it’s fully cured. Because retracting it to the glans is one thing, how and how well it retracts is another. Which if any (or all?) of these should apply for fully functioning foreskin w/o problematic phimosis?

automatically retracts on erection (when fully erect, and I assume hopefully automatic unretraction when it goes back flaccid (and perhaps for those with penis that shrinks back too))

or are there still cases where some folks still have to manually retract foreskin before sex, etc. and manually unretract after because they don’t have the auto-retraction ability?

retracts easily without effort (flaccid or erect), simply pull up/down to glide the foreskin revealing the glans and covering it. Like really really loose, lubed foreskin.

or it may still take a little effort in pulling to retract and unretract, as long as can do both safely?

Should cured phimosis result in a bigger hole revealing more of the glans in covered state? or should it still look like how it was during phimosis? Being able to retract is one thing, should the look of the unretracted state change when cured?
Some guidance around this would be helpful.
