Hi everyone I just wanted to see if anyone else has gotten PID but was not caused by an STI. Nearly 2 months ago I started bleeding thought it was odd at first as I don't get my periods anymore as I have the implanon implant. any way 3 weeks later I was in hospital getting pumped full of antibiotics for 24 hours as they just gave me everything because all tests were negative to everything. I'm still in pain but bleeding has stopped. I'm getting another ultrasound next week to see if it's gone. I have a feeling it's not. I hope I'm not the only one out there like this. it sucks big time
PID isnt only caused my stds. having the coil can increase risks of infection. PID is caused by bacteria entering the reproductive organs, so id assume that bacterial vaginosis could possibly cause PID if it travelled up there. abortions and miscarriages can increase the risk.
did they treat you for PID?
yes they did treat me for it as that’s what I had.
every doctor blamed my diabetes because they couldn’t find the reason as to how I got it.
Was bleeding the only thing you experienced? how did they figure out you had PID? what test did they run?
diabetes can increase risk of developing yeast infections. i think they can spread if untreated.but normal bacteria in the vagina can spread and when in the wrong place i.e the reproductive system could cause pid. so i dont see how they can just blame your diabetes.
yes bleeding was the only symptom I had.
Dr sent me for a pelvic ultrasound & one of my tubes was inflamed.
When I was admitted to hospital I also saw a specialist gyno.
does ur lower part hurt? how did u notuce u have pid?
how will u know if u have pid in just looking at a discharge?
it wasn’t discharge I was bleeding for 3 weeks.
I got a pelvic ultrasound that’s how I found out.
