Pins and needles, and rashes. Thoughts on which direction I should take?

Hi all,

About 4 weeks ago I began running. I began experiencing tingling/burning in my lower buttocks — there was a pinpoint rash so likely due to chafing, or so I thought. The pins and needles have expanded down both legs (mostly back of thighs and calves). They also interchange with pain and numbing sensations. If that’s not bad enough, this last week we now have a new symptom where I feel the backs of my thighs radiating with heat and I breakout in a more widespread pinpoint rash. Every heated instance ends in rash.

I’m a highly anxious person so at this point I’m not sure if I’ve created more pins and needles — but at the foundation, I know they are there, I know I’m getting rashes. I’m fatigued and nauseous over the last 2 days but again, perhaps an anxiety symptom (or a stomach bug that ran through my house last week).

Any ideas what I should be pursuing? Do you think the symptoms are related or coincidental? Google is not my friend in this case. I convinced myself I have herpes (no blisters, no sexual intercourse in over a year... just letting you know this is the kind of person you’re working with).

Any non-inflammatory/knowledgeable thoughts are so very appreciated!

No sex so no herpes!

I don't believe what you're experiencing is an STD of any sort. The pins/needles and numbness is due to lack of blood supply to the area. You need to elevate the area that is feeling numb to improve blood flow. If it is getting serious and you feel nausea, please seek medical advise. Numbness after a workout is common but not to the extreme. As for the rash, it could be just heat or sweat rash.
