Does anyone know what would happen at a home pip assessment if the asseor asks you to walk but you are unable to because of the pain. Would the abandon the assessment?
I've never known them to ask you to walk during any physical tests. They ask you to lift your legs/arms etc. Just curious though, if you're alone how will you answer the door? If you are alone when you have the assessment then you'll have no option but to answer the door.
Remember PIP is how your conditions affect you 50% of the time. As i also pointed out in another of your threads, if you can't do something because it causes you pain then tell them you can't and your reasons why.

There's no rules that you can't have someone with you during the assessment. For my daughters assessment there was myself and a representative too, who was writing notes during the whole assessment.
You will have to answer all the questions, the person with you will not be able to answer any of them. Some are allowed to prompt you but it will depend on the HCP whether they allow them to do this. As this is your 2nd assessment for PIP then it will be exactly the same as the first time, no difference. Good luck.
The best advice anyone can give you is be yourself and don't do anything different to what you would usually do.
Thanks Denise. Can I ask you about having a representative. Who would that me. My friend has offered to sit in and take notes but I didn't know if he would be allowed. Do you havever to inform.them. my assessment is next Monday
Very few advice agencies, if any at all represent anyone for just an assessment, i'm afraid. It's difficult enough to get a representative to support someone through a Tribunal.
The person that was at my daughters home assessment for PIP was someone that was supporting us through a Education health care plan (EHCP) and offered to be at her assessment to take down notes. Obviously i agreed to the support but if it wasn't for the EHCP process at the time we wouldn't have had this persons support. This person didn't speak a word during the assessment, i did all the talking and answered the questions on my daughters behalf because i'm her appointee and i'm allowed do that.
You said you have someone there with you during the assessment? Anyone can take notes, if they want to and you don't have to get permission to do this. Just the same as you can have notes with you to refer to during the assessment. There's no rules against any of this. Just tell the HCP who the person is when they arrive. You will of course have to answer all the questions yourself, as i advised earlier. There's just rules to recording assessments.
