Pip award

Hi everyone I'm just wondering how many people have had successfully been awarded pip I'm waiting for mine and I just have bad anxiety that I will get refused

Hi I got refused the first time then after asking them to reconsider and sending in more evidence I got awarded the enhanced rate! Don't give up!

Have you had your assessment? It all depends on what descriptor points are  decided on. Also the medical evidence .

Yes 3 week ago I'm just waiting for a decision x

I've been awarded the standard rate I wouldn't get the enhanced as I work full time

Hi i just recently applied for it I'm the same my anxiety is creeping back while waiting 😔 Fingers crossed for u xx

Hi. I know exactly how you are feeling. I made my claim back in Febuary and last month had a text saying that they had accepted my reasons for not attending a medical and i now have to wait from PIP themselves. My anxiety has been so bad these last few months. The waiting game is so unfair. Best of luck to you hun. xxx

Hi Naomi,

it's so stressful isn't it, I think the time scale varies depending on which area you live.  I had my assessment last week and they told me 6 - 8 weeks.  I hope you hear soon x

Hi miss naomi02913

just to answer your question, I have successfully been awarded PIP since 2010 at the enhanced rate. I have a lot of problems doing things for myself as I lose concentration quite a lot, coupled with the fact a haven't left the house for over 4 years. They base their decision on a point based system, the more points you get, the better chance you have of getting awarded PIP.

Dont worry about anything to do with your claim, just make sure that you see your Doctor and get support from them as PIP will contact your GP in relation to your claim. Hope this helps you, if you want anymore help, please just ask - Pete

Thank you Pete I really hope I get it but I'm not holding my breath x

You always have a chance to appeal if the decision doesn't go your way. Anyone that requires support or has to live with an illness that affects the way you live everyday, should have the chance to receive benefits to help them. You'll be fine - Pete
