I've got this letter this morning I done understand it it says were writing to remind you that your personal independence payment (pip) will end on 14 April 2018 you'll need to make a new claim if you still need help with your daily living or mobility needs. I thought you just went for a face to face interview didn't realise I would have to make a new claim again. Can someone please help me out thanks
Hi Mel,
I've not had a PIP review yet, but unfortunately you don't just automatically go for a face to face. From the info Denise and others have given out, you will have to complete some paper work. This will not be like the forms you filled out for the new claim, (they were like war and peace) and I do know that you will have to return them within a time scale.
Sorry I can't advise you on this, but Denise or someone will hopefully see your message soon and fill you in on what is expected. Good luck and please let us know how you get on.
Hi Mel, what date was given to you when you were initially awarded PIP, usually they will send you forms to fill out to renew your claim and these need to be sent back within in the timescale on you forms, did you just get the letter ?
Hi Alexandria,
Mel had an end date on her PIP award because it was awarded through the Tribunal. With these awards they always have ends dates, so DWP contact you 3 months before the award is due to end to ask if you want to renew. If you do then you have to ring to start the award off all over again, unlike a review. Mel will be sent more of the original PIP2 forms, like the first time she claimed.
Mel posted 2 of the same posts and i answer her on her other one.
So if you take it to tribunal its actually a defined end date, not 3 years ending in 2
Yes, that's correct. Tribunals usually award an end date. If a person has an end date they need to re-apply. If then a decision isn't made by the timme the award is due to end, payments stop. If the decision goes in their favour payments are backdated to when they stopped.
So you hope you don't have to go to tribunal then, all to complicated really isn't it, I still find the tree year award and its really only two weird
Yes indeed. All other awards are review 1 year before the award is due to end so if someone gets 2 years, review is after 1 year.
