I am getting really stressed out about waiting for a decision about a new pip claim it has been with a case manager scence the 19th Dec and still nothing I spoke to them yesterday and still no news am really starting to think it will be bad news
Hi Michelle,
Counting the weeks that's only just 4 weeks. There's no timescales to any decisions and they can take up 8 weeks and longer sometimes. You also have to take into consideration all the Christmas and New Year closing days on top of that, which would make it about 3 weeks in total. That really isn't long at all. I know it's stressful, we all go through it but there's nothing you can do until you have a decision. Have you rang DWP to ask for a copy of the assessment report? If you haven't then i'd advice you to do this tomorrow morning. This will giive you some idea what the decision will be as mostly tthey go with that report. It''s also handy if you have to go down the MR and Tribunal route. It certainly doens't mean it's bad news. Good luck.
Yes it's going to seem longer especially when you're waiting but the Christmas closure means I'm working days it's not really been that long.
Try not to get stressed although I know it's easier said than done.
Take care

did you have acessment or just had youer review form in on 19th ???
If it's with a casee manager then Michelle must have already had the assessment.
it could be new claim or review she has said nothing about face to face but if a review it still goes to case maneger they send it to aceser who may decide face to face needed then it goes back to decision maker ie case maneger bit of a joke way of doing it but it makes capita cash so thats the best way
Her post states a new claim. It's very rare to have a paper based decision, so most likely an assessment has already been carried out. Capita aren't the only ones that do PIP assessments. Independent assessment services (formally ATOS) do them too.
Having been through these assessments myself, i know the procedure.
