I've been on sert for 13 weeks, the last 9 of which have been at 75mg. My plan was to increase to 100mg after xmas but I've now been offered a job (haven't worked for 2 yrs) so I'm really conflicted as I know I'll be anxious anyway starting somewhere new and can't handle adding new side effects on top of things at the same time. But I really wanted to try 100mg as I've read ppl saying their drs reckon it doesn't do much under 100. Had my last cbt session today...she reckons I prob wouldn't get many side effects now it's been in my system a while but would prefer the opinion of ppl who've actually used it!!
i would increase, i was on 50 then 75 then 100 and wasn't until i increased to 150 i saw any massive differences in myself. you shouldn't get that many more side effects if you've already been on the medication for 13 weeks and the last 9 on 75mg. what have you got to lose, it can't make you feel any worse and i doubt it would seeing as the meds are already in your system. i still had alot of up and down days and i wasn't settled on 100mg so my GP put me up to 150 and i'm back to normal now and got my life back to what it was before. i've not felt this good in about a year and a half. sertraline has been brilliant for me :-) good luck with the new job :-)
Just wishing you all the best with the dosage increase and with your new job - a new start for you. I'm sure it feels very scary, but you must have been amazingly strong to get to this point. Just believe in yourself, don't put too much pressure on yourself and take one day at a time, savouring your achievement.
That's so kind of you Digsby, taking the time to say such nice things...you're obviously a very caring person. Thank you, truly. "Baby steps" is my new mantra...and trying not to let little blips (as I now call them) pull my mood and confidence down. Easier said than done, but ny resolutions and all that
