PF is handled differently with each case. I had injections, custom inserts made and surgery. I had the surgery on my left foot in November and i still have some pain but it seems to be doing better. I've had PF in both feet for over three years and my only advice is seek help from a podiatrist ASAP because it will only get worse.
must admit i did not know there was an operation. I had the injections which worked wonders for a few months, but now suffering again so looking at having more jabs.
I have suffered over a yr with this i would say, but took a long time before i realised it was a real problem and not just sore feet.
Could someone let me know what the operation is and how you would go about speaking to someone about it.
My podiatrist refered to the operation as "plantar fascia release." Google that so you can get more accurate description than I can give you. Do you have a podiatrist? If so, simply ask them about it.
I am seeing a orthopaedic specialist April 16th will he be as good ?
I'm not sure. Podiatrists specialize in feet so I'd trust one of them more than an orthopedist.
I had plantars fasciitis release surgery on the left 8 years ago and it worked great! Took about a year to completely recover. It is not a quick fix. But for me, it was worth it. No more pain in the left foot! I just had a release on the right, along with tarsal tunnel surgery, hammertoe and bunion all on the right foot. I have a connective tissue disease and my feet are horrible! The pain sucks but it will get better. If you have done everything and still have pain and the doctor recommends the surgery, I would go for it. Have you been in a walking boot? That helped a lot to give me some relief. I would wear it for 2-3 months and it would let the foot rest. I was able to put off the surgery for quite a while like this.
Thank you
No
I will look into the boot
Did you buy one or did the doctor give it to you ?
The Podiatrist provided it. I have worn it many, many times. Well worth the money! Good luck.
McCoy thanks i will google I have not yet booked with a podiatrist - need to google & find 1 in my area. I am seeing a reflexologist ho i am hoping can maybe help short term with pain relief. I have problem in both feet so wonder what ever this boot is if its suitable when you have problems in both feet.
My physiotherapist has just informed me I have heel spurs on both feet too great !!
Hi Jenny I have just joined the chat are you still having pain and issues with plantar ??
Worked great on my right foot 1 year ago. Now I'm 4 days post-op on left foot.
Hello
Just wondering which surgery did u have the arthroscope or open?booked the open but am concerned now about the recovery period .. many thanks
How are you going now after ur second surgery was it open or arthroscope??
Hi! I just had Plantar fasciitis release surgery 7 weeks ago on my left foot. I have been struggling with PF for 2 years. I have tried everything. Surgery was the only answer at this point. I am in sooo much pain still. I still have to take vicodin at night and tons of ib profin during the day. It doesn't even help. How was it when you had your surgery?
