Has anybody heard of the Graston Technique for helping with PF. I'm not sure whether it is an American thing or not. There is a practitioner near me in North Yorkshire, but I would really welcome some feedback from other sufferers if you have had experience of it. No doubt it will be expensive as all these things are, so let me know your thoughts if you have tried it. Thank you.
Soxy
Graston is metal totals that therapists work o. You instead odd there hands. I prefer hands on myself. A good old wood rollng pin works just as good. Have a Partner rub the back of your calfs.
Didn't really understand your reply. Have you had this procedure done?
water frozen in a plastic bottle and rolling you foot on it is very helpful so is wearing a half orthotic to support the arch of your foot and cussion the painful parts of it is also very helpful in my experience
I hava a brilliant physio who provided the above advise and it worked
Thank you for that. I am already doing this, but no improvement so far. I'll keep on with it in the hope .....
Hi Soxy
it took over 6 months for my foot to start improving
and apparetnly it was reasonably quick
apparently a year is not that uncommon
Hi Mishe
Thanks for your input. Much obliged if you could tell me how long each day you spend with the frozen water bottle. Maybe I am not doing it long enough? Thanks
Not very long may be up to 10 minutes
I think it may work even better if you do
it more often
UnfortunateIy found it quite painful
and be patient
it is definitely not something that can be fixed instantly
Hi, Did you come across any supplements or food that might help this condition. I started having pain about 4 months now, but had just ignored it, but the last 2 days i am having problems climbing steps, so when i researched knee pains, it took me to foot pain and i connected the dots that i am pretty sure i have this condition.
Hi Wendy,
I don't know of any supplements etc., that would help with this as it comes under the umbrella of muscular skeletal problems. I do have arthritis in the knee, but not sure it is connected to the foot pain. My own view for myself is that I do have tight Achilles' tendons, and this might contribute to it. Having said that the knee arthritis is on the same side as the foot with the plantar, so who knows! My advice is to get an assessment from a physio (see your doctor first). I am probably going to see a osteopath to see what she can do - just have to save the pennies first. Good luck.
Thank you for your reply.
I have read that magnesium citrate helps. The magnetic paper cut to fit imy heel, put in my shoe, along with stretching, roll on tennis ball every night, and siting on a chair ,writing out the alphabet barefooted without moving your knee has helped the most and two Aleve every morning till pain goes away.
I wear the magnetic paper right over my custom orthodic. Just cut the paper the size of your heel and put it in your shoe. Very important to stretch your calve muscles. That is keeping everything tight. Do a coile times a day.
