Plate and pins removal surgery

Over a yr and a half ago I broke my ankle and fibula. I had sugery at the time. They put pins and a plate in.

Unfortunately I ve had alot of pain. A yr ago they removed two long pins. After a few weeks the pain returned

Six weeks ago I had the remaining pins and plate removed hoping it would resolve the problem.

Unfortunately I'm in more pain now and it's affecting my walk. I was back today to see the doctor and there now going to do an mri in the coming weeks.

Has anyone else had trouble with on going pain after the metal work was removed.

I'm completely disheartened and very worried

I had my pins removed 20 th June this year . I am in more pain than when I had the pins in . I still have the plate in

I have had 6 pins removed from two locations that had been in place about two years....they had shifted and were causing pain. My surgeon said the pins had done their job of stabilization and were no longer needed. He also advised me that it is quite common for the body to begin to push pins out after a time. I had no problems.
