Hi today my doctor phoned me to ask me to call him back but he's gone home now I'm panicking bad now really bad don't what it is I saw him yesterday maybe he's missed something, don't know weather to go down a n e need help with this
Hi Charliee did your doctor do any tests yesterday?
No nothing just check my neck and collarbone said it was fine said he get me Refferd for some counseling for my health anexity but that will take weeks
That's why he is ringing he has contacted them and probably has a more accurate idea of how long it will take.Trust me there is nothing to worry about.
I agree with Marlene 85993. Your doctor may have heard back from the referral and you may get to see someone sooner than expected. Worst case scenario - may take 4 weeks than 3 weeks to see a specialist. I don't feel you have anything to worry about. Just focus on calming yourself down. Deep breathing and using rational thinking is big for me. Try using this approach to this particular worry: no blood was drawn, no laboratory results, no MRI was taken, it was a physical examination of your collar bone. Doctors can't diagnose serious diseases or illnesses without extensive medical testing like this. So ask yourself (and answer) what do I have to worry about?
If it was anything urgent he would either have left a message or not went home until he had spoken to you, he would hardly have left you hanging if it were the critical
You could have forgot to sign something or forgot something there. Could be nothing. If it was really important I am sure they would call you more than once or perhaps the nurse would call you if the doctor had to step away. I would kick the panic down a notch. If it was life threatening you would know it by now. So it most likely can wait until the office is open again.
I just feel so sick now I had too beers to try and relax and now I'm thinking I'm going to throw up blood or something, sounds so stupid but can't stop thinking about the worst
Sorry for acting like a wimp
You really need to get your anxiety under control l hope you can get therapy sooner than later. You will be fine seriously there is nothing to worry about.
Are you on any medication right now for anxiety or anything else? I wouldn't drink alcohol right now. Do you have a history of these anxious thoughts and feelings? Are you familiar with the deep breathing techniques used to slow your heart rate down?
My doctor seems to think medication wouldn't help me he doesn't even think it's anexity which is frightening for me
You suddenly become afraid that you might lose your mind or that you are not able to think. You may also feel that you are not able to remember things as easily as you once did. Sometimes you become afraid of having a nervous breakdown. You also may have periods of 'crazy' thoughts that frighten you, or thoughts that ‘just pop up’ that are bothersome by their content.
You also may have thoughts that you are about to ‘lose it,’ go crazy or lose control of your thoughts and/or actions.
You might also have ‘unwanted’ thoughts that you can’t seem to get rid of or not think of.
Thought content can be bizarre, disturbing, unreal, irrational, totally off-base, etc.
An underlying component is a fear of having a serious mental illness, or of being committed to a mental institution for the rest of your life because of an incurable mental illness.
These types of thoughts can be mildly noticeable, moderately bothersome, or greatly problematic. They can occur rarely, frequently, or persistently, and may change from day to day and even moment to moment.
All combinations and variations of the above are common.
Maybe you should get another doctor? Not all doctors think alike. You know your symptoms better than your doctor. And maybe he is old school thinker. People get 2nd opinions all the time. Would not hurt.
