Hi, you seem to have VP and a strong yeast infection. The TP reaction is also possible. Stop using it right away and start an antifungal treatment. Don’t hesitate to confirm with a doctor. Allergic contact dermatitis and yeast is two very different treatments.
thank you so much for replying! i understand, what is a antifungal treatment that you recommend? i was searching on google/amazon but I’m overwhelmed with the results and don’t know which one to choose.
i saw monistat but a lot of people say that it burns really bad. i also saw boric acid suppositories on amazon from a brand called nurablast or ph-d. do you think one of those will help? if not, feel free to share some possibilities
The pharmacist can help you with the appropriate treatment. Don’t be shy to ask. I think an ovule 1 Day treatment would be the best. Stop reading reviews, all brand are usually effective. I like Canesten. You should see result really quickly. You can take a warm bath with baking soda too. Boric acid is more used by women who have recurrent yeast infection.
When you are irritated down there, less manipulation is the best.
Now if it’s not yeast and it’s an allergy to TP (also called allergic contact dermatitis), the antifungal ointment might irritate you more. In this case, you need to apply cold compress, apply hydrocortisone ointment and unperfumed moisturiser. You can take antihistaminic such as Benadryl to stop itching. The healing time is longer than yeast.
Both conditions have similar symptoms so it’s tricky, you have to go by elimination. Try to avoid sexual penetration until you feel better.
