Nearly two months ago I started getting episodes of depersonalisation and waking up in a panic in the middle of the night and suffered from an aura which I've not had before. Ever since then I have not been able to sleep, I'd get this horrible burning sensation like rush every time I tried to sleep, I don't feel tired and can't get to sleep at night, I get stuck in this hallucinatory dream like state without actually falling asleep. If I do it will only be for an hour and I will have vivid odd dreams and wake up constantly through out the night. I've been sleeping about 0-1 hour sometimes or sometimes 2-3 max. Medications haven't helped, I feel really depersonalised and detached during the day, with really odd thoughts, scared I'm going to get psychosis, I have severe muscle twitches and uncontrollable jerking movements in my hands. I don't know what's happening to me, I'm terrified of going mad or that it's some sort of brain inflammation or neurological disease or fatal insomnia. Can anyone help me? My doctors don't know what to do, I've tried everything like sleep hygiene, anti anxiety and depression meds and sleeping pills, nothing works. I'm just so terrified that it's never going to end.
amy you are in the withdrawal of the meds you used.
I don't think so, I wasn't on them for long. I mean I thought the twitching could be that but I had the problems with sleep before I started taking the meds and now I'm not taking anything it's just as bad
amy drink luke warm milk mixed well with half a tea spoon turmeric powder before going to bed. another option mix well half a glass of curds until it become smooth paste and fill with water and make a thick solution and drink before bed. either one will work.I am sleeping like a baby

i think my friend is currently suffering from this, he went to bed on a normal night about 1 yr ago now.
he got woken up with im guessing its an aura/, pain in his head and has been unable to sleep since.
he has been to doctors for an MRI scan and other tests but nothing has been found.
he is just awaiting now to see if he is eliable for some kind of sleeping trial
