When we get anxious parts of our brain temporarily slow down such as our concentration and memory to focus on the fight, flight and freeze response, our brain doesn't need to engage memory or concentration when in these states so we get very forgetful as our mind is concentrating on the feelings of anxiousness and the anxiety response. It's only like that when we are anxious, is perfectly natural and causes no damage to us. I often go upstairs and when I get there have fir gotten why I went there in the first place. Neil
Yes, its this constant feeling of anxiety which is the main problem for me. I am like you and feel the private cbt i am having isn't addressing my problem of the feeling. I dont get panic attacks just feel anxious all the time, she isnt doing anything to address this.. Ssris dont seem to help me. I am living on diazepam on as small a dose as i can. Do let me know how the sertraline goes, unfortunately it skyrocketed my anxiety and i pushed my way on till three weeks in i could take no more. Back to square one.
