A week ago I had risky sexual encounter. Today I noticed a red spot on my penis. By the look of it (and everything I saw online) am almost sure I got primarily stage of syphilis. The trouble is in a few hours I am going on a work trip abroad for a week. I don't have time to go to the doctor. I will be back on Sunday late night, which means the earliest I can go to the doctor is on 7 of October. I am freaking out! Should I cancel my work trip and go to the doctor instead?? My boss will kill me. Everything is already paid - plane tickets, hotels etc. This is also very important work trip. Will it be OK if I go the doctor when I am back in case this is really what I think it is?? Please anyone give me advise.
if u suspect u have syphilis u need to go to a doctor as soon as possible as it can cause alot of problems i would not advise leaving it
when left it can cause problems to joints and heart and brain it can actually be fatal in some cases
Yeah I saw this info already and it seems quite serious. My question is will it be OK if I go to the doctor when I am back from my work trip in 10 days? A month ago I got tested and everything came up negative, so I am sure this is from a week ago. Can another week of being untreated do such harm?
like i said above u would not advise leaving it it needs treating
it can take a good while for things to progress to were its serious the early stages can last for a while so the choice is yours wat u want to do as far as leaving it is concerned but if was me id want it treating asap tbh
Oh god I am really freaking out. I can’t cancel this work trip. I saw online that for really damaging outcome it will take longer time. I think I can leave it for 10 days. 
Is there any doctor that can give advise pleaaase?
im a sexual health worker iv given u the advice its up to u wat u do with it like i said the first stage can last for a while before it moves onto other symptoms if u want to go on your trip go thats up to u no doctor will advise u to leave a sexually transmitted disease untreated
Thanks Kim! As I mentioned i had my test done a month ago and all came up clear and I didn’t had sexual encounters up to last week. So I am sure this is a week old thing. Is it possible to spread this to others just by handshake for example? I don’t want to pass it on to my colleagues for example.
I really can’t cancel this trip as I am the main person responsible for the work we will be doing and on such short notice no one will be able to replace me.
In total it will be less than 20 days since the infection till I go to the doctor. Do you think this 20 days can do such harm? Apologies if it seems I am asking the same questions I just really can’t wrap my mind around it.
it can only be passed onto others if u have a rash
the sore usually develops 3 weeks after exposure on the penis so if u would have had it already for nearly 4 weeks
it can also take 12 weeks to be detected in a blood test as antibodies take time to build up in the blood

with syphilis the sore develops on the glans the head if the penis
