Please help.. I need some advice thank you

Hello Everyone,

I have had IBS since I was 14, I was diagnosed at hospital, I have had all Med’s lists of diet changes I haven’t had a flare up in years.

But last week I had the worst flare up since I was took to hospital since I was 14years old, I am going to the toilet without medication but has only being two days, I am still in a lot of pain after I eat any food and I am extremely drained from this.

It really has put me off food completly and I don’t want to eat anything due to severe stomach cramps.  I’m also concerned about a pain on my right side from my ribs to my hip which has being there since the Ibs flare up.

I’m just looking for someone to talk to and help who knows what it is like and if I should speak to the doctor

Thanks Everyone, I really appreciate it smile

Hi Emmy lou, I  don't like the sound of this being ibs related as fellow sufferer, you need to be back at your doctor's and investigate why you've got pain down your right side and not your left.  Have you been investigated for appendicitis at all?  IF not I'd be asking why not as I think this is what you've got, if you have no bowel related issues  Track how often this is happening - you may be ovulating if you're of that age, or premenstrual.  I know if you're due a period you're ibs can cause agony in some people.  Track when this is happening and find out if it's worse at certain points.  Doctors have a habit of diagnosing ibs when they can't find anything else wrong, but it can alter. I have a scan in hospital on Friday for possible diverticulitis, which is a little scary.  Go back and insist they help you further.  Have you been told to speak to anyone else or even offered this like a dietitian for instance?  No, I would definitely be asking for a second opinion.

Hello Sam,

Thank you for your reply, I am waiting for the doctor to ring me back as still feeling crap but a lot better. Pain not to bad at moment hope you get on okay I will keep you updated.

Good luck, I recommend chocolate to help keep your sanity more than anything, unless you can't have milk in which case try wine!
