Hello and thank  you for taking the time to read my post. I am in my late 20s and prior to my testing I have only had a outbreak of cold sores around my lip area which I probably contracted at an early age  being that my mother has them.  But I sit here a bit confused looking at my results for HSV 1 and HSV 2 IgG .  It reads that I am negative for HSV 1 (<0.91) but I am positive for HSV 2 (12.50 "high&quot  is this even possible, how is this even possible, I know I'm sick, I do have a sore throat....could this be an error?  Please any positive light or further explanation or information on this is welcomed.  Thank you

A menos que haya un error tipográfico, lo cual sería muy descuidado por parte del laboratorio, claramente usted es positivo para HSV2 y no para HSV1. Los altos valores de índice de IgG de HSV2, especialmente tan altos, rara vez están equivocados. La prueba de HSV1 a veces puede pasar por alto los verdaderos positivos, pero eso no afecta su alto valor de índice de HSV2. En cuanto a cómo llegó a ser así, no puedo responder eso.

Siempre puedes verificar con la clínica/laboratorio o volver a hacer la prueba para asegurarte de que no sea un error. ¿Con qué frecuencia te salen herpes labiales? El HSV2 oral es menos común y no debería reaparecer con tanta frecuencia. La próxima vez que te salga uno, si es que te sale otro, también podrías hacerte un frotis de inmediato para ambos tipos de HSV (los tests de frotis son mejores cuando la llaga es nueva, por cierto).

So with further research I notice that my index is almost non existent  to super low ( index 0.00-0.90)  I'm so lost

I don't get them that often at all . I want to say once or the max three times a year.  And ok thank you. I will definitely look in to it.

Sí, su resultado de HSV1 es claramente negativo según este informe.

Sorry I ment the index is the same for my hvs1  and 2 specific an, igg  <0.91 Index 0.00-0.90

 Negative <0.91

Equivocal 0.91 -1.09

Positive >1.09 

 the hvs2  type spec 12.50 Index 0.00-0.90

 Negative <0.91

Equivocal 0.91 -1.09

Positive >1.09

No sé a qué se refiere, por lo que vale la pena preguntar. Parece estar relacionado con el rango de referencia. Sus resultados son los primeros números en cada caso, aunque.
