Please help in reading herpes results - confused!

so a very weird thing happened.

i got really bad sores, went to sexual health clinic and nurse immediately identified it as herpes. i got swabbed hsv2 came back from the lab negative after 2 days. im still awaiting hsv1 result but i think it will be positive as it’s been one week later and still no results.

i also did antibodies test. results just came back, hsv1 0.549 hsv2 <0.500 but nurse mentioned that if the infection happened within last 12 weeks i might not have antibodies yet.

the thing is that i am in relationship for 1+ year. obviously i havent slept with anyone else but the results suggest that the infection might happened in the past 3 months? is that correct?

results are 100% conclusive at 6 months after exposure so getting a result negative now and positive in a few weeks would be the exposure is recent. this doesn’t mean your partner has been with someone else for sure, it could have just been transmitted within the past few months. Herpes is a tricky virus!

thank you! is it still possible that i got the virus few years ago but didnt have antibodies as i didnt have any outbreak previously? or that low igg means that it got infected within past few months?
