Please help! Is this Herpes???

So, I dated someone a little over a year ago who never told me he had herpes. He had Acyclovir, but he said it was to “prevent getting herpes”??? I believed him at the time, but found out it wasn’t true.

Anyway, I dated another guy for a year. I was tested prior to having unprotected sex with him, and the result was negative.. but I’m worried I got tested too early?? I’m not sure if that’s “possible”.

I have a little raw spot on my vulva. It itches a little, but that’s it. It’s just one spot. No blisters, no burning, no pain when I pee. I went to the doc today thinking I had a yeast infection, and mentioned the itching, and that I had had a scare in the past and was tested (negative). She looked at it and said it looked “a little herpatic, but doesn’t look like herpes”. I’m getting tested for it, but it’ll take a week or so to get the results. I was hoping you guys could help me calm my nerves, or prepare me for having my life change forever.... thanks, everyone.

Hi. k58887

Unfortunately you can have a blood test done to early and it come back negative. It’s what happened to me and so a year later I had a outbreak. The red raw patch on your vaginal area could be herpes  because a herpes flare up can have a different appearance. It doesn’t always show as blisters. It can look like a rash,  a red patch of skin , a pimple, or tiny cut. The key is to  familiarize yourself with all of the different symptoms and appearances so that you can  avoid passing it to your partner IF you do actually have it. I would just wait and be patient until the results. You can be confident knowing that taking the test is the right thing to do to protect your health and the health of others. Herpes has no cure  as of yet. They’re  workout on getting the vaccines approved by the FDA and it is manageable.

Take care hon!
