I can feel myself on the edge of an attack, I keep feeling detached and weightless, my chest hurts, I feel like someones tightening a belt around my ribs, Its not like my other attacks because instead I'm more afraid of the anxiety attack itself, whereas before I thought I was seriously ill, now I'm terrified of the feeling, there's no one in my house and I don't know what to do, I can't leave because I think it'll happen in front of everyone and then I'd look awful and everyone would hate me. Please help me I don't want to have another one because I was so awful afterwards I'm going to a friends house tomorrow and the day after and I'm terrified it'll happen when I'm there and I know that will just make me worse, I'm disappointed in myself because I felt like I was improving and now this is happening, please tell me what I can do to calm down
Am the same Alice, I had a good day all day yday until night where my anxiety kicked in and couldn't sleep so today I've been in edge all day.. it's horrible.. all we can do is distract ourselfs as it's all the thoughts we allow in our minds that make it worse, am also going out tomoz as friend has invited me out for dinner for my birthday and a really don't know if a can but a don't wanna let her down... it's awful...
I've been like this all day. Feel like i cant breath properly, headachy, tight sore chest, shaky. I'm trying to ignore the feelings but can't
Alice,
go to YouTube and listen to some meditations for anxiety. They completely calm down my mind and body and my symptoms diminish or go away.
also listen to mindful meditation for breathing. It's important to know the proper breathing technique when you have anxiety. Always go to your breathing when you have anxiety. Focus on your breath, slowly in and out.
you can find all of this on YouTube. Using earbuds for the best effect.
feel better 😁❤️
It's difficult when ur on the throws of a panic attack to get ur phone, go on to you tube, get head phones and listen . U feel like ur going to keel over. Ur mind is all over the place. U just want to get away. I'm glad meditation etc helped u but it's not always the answer
It's not the only answer but it really helps!
even have one for panic attack emergency which many people said has help them a lot. They you down immediately .
I have been where you are! I know what panic attack feels like but it's either suffer with it or do something that may help. Good luck
Thank you, I have a friend who finds meditation music really helpful, but it seems to disagree with me and makes me more on edge and sometimes it feels overwhelming, but i do listen to music to help me, mostly in the choral genre, because the feeling you get when you really like a piece of music helps you partially ignore, not the symptoms, but the anxiety itself. Thank you for your reply because I forgot about listening to music, and it was quite helpful, now the anxiousness has gone but I've still got the symptoms, but I know I'm much further away from an anxiety attack than I was last night
thanks
