just had an awful episode sat at desk at work. was sat chatting to a co worker all of a sudden felt massive adrenaline rush and my eyes started going hazy it all lasted 5/10 seconds before it faded. what is causing this ?
i am scared of seizures in life and had lots of tests years ago mri/eeg all came back clear but what are causing these feelings? i am now on day 11 of citalopram could it be from that going on in my brain?
i have been watching recently lots of youtube videos of seizures and descriptions of temporal lobe seizures and it scares me to death as my symptoms match
Hi! Sounds like a side effect from the citalopram. Unfortunately SSRIS can make you feel worse before any improvement in anxiety symptoms. I’m on day 21 of fluoxetine and last week was horrendous for me. I experienced similar several times but i seem to be coming out the other side now. Hang on in there as may take a good
month or two for your body to adjust.
I have a massive fear of seizures even though had tests years ago and been told by neuro he doesnt think it seizures. I just get all symptoms that match temporal lobe epilepsy from what I have read on the online forums. What do I do live in fear of a seizure? Or is it anxiety?
Stop googling and stop watching videos on YouTube.
Get some CBDee oil from holland and barretts and go back to the doctors and ask for some diazepam.
If the CBDee oil and diazepam work you can be sure its anxiety and related to cortisol and adrenalin rushes.
Hey Jonathan,
its the Celexa starting to adjust in your body.
Just like Jennifer said it gets worse before it gets better. what Mg are you on? I’m on 10mg for 8 months and I’ve gotten my life back. The symptoms you are describing are what I had. It was horrible I actually thought I was going to die. I also thought it was seizures. All my tests came back negative except for my spinal fluid which was low. Its very important to keep on a good sleep schedule and eat healthy and force yourself to excercise. Even if its walking. That helps alot. Keep us posted of how you are doing.

Hi,
I am using meds for anxiety and have experienced very similar to what you are describing. Sometimes whilst looking at my monitor I get very strange head rushes (hard to describe - like being in a elevator which suddenly drops) really uncomfortable and alarming - at home I have no such problems.
Does any of this sound familiar ?
I get that same head rush feeling! Your describing it using an elevator is actually pretty interesting and accurate. I’m not even on anxiety meds, but whenever I’m anxious I get those head rushes. Very odd and frightening, even though it only lasts like a second.
Hi Philly,
Yes - I would say mine lasts maybe only for a second - like a sudden dropping. Despite being told by Doctors there is nothing wrong physically - I still have a hard time believing it. Glad in some way am not alone with this - can I ask do others in this thread suffer from head pressure / dizziness ? I have real daily problems with this…
Hi Jonathan
Citalopram can take time to adjust with quite a few side effects, a wise person on these forums told me that anything strange that happens, you can bet its down to Citalopram whilst settling. I understand your fear of getting siezures, I have a fear of having a stroke due to a certain type of migraine I get that mimics them. Have a chat with your doctor to put your mind at rest, they will be able to tell you what symptoms to look out for and how to know whether its a siezure or not. All the best to you.
