I went to my gp 4 weeks ago with stomach issues and he prescribed Zoloft for IBS. After being on it for 6 days I had a panic attack and discontinued the Zoloft. I started getting dizzy, headaches, and the feeling like I was going to pass out. I went back to my gp to explain the problems and he was going to put me on another anxiety medicine. Needless to say I did not fill it because I didn't feel I needed it because it made it worse. The following week I had an episode that was the worse ever and went to an urgent care and they said it was an inner ear infection and gave me some antibiotics and meclizine. That weekend I had another episode and had my dad take me to the er because I felt awful. They did an mri with contrast and also did heart test and said everything was normal. I was discharged two days later and went to an ENT and he said It had something to do with my right ear and told me to stop taking the meclizine because it would make the dizziness worse. I have been getting headaches more often now and my skin feels like it's burning several times a day. The crazy thing is that I never had any of these symptoms before I took the Zoloft. I just want to feel normal again and I have been so scared to go anywhere because I don't want to have an episode in public. And input would help please because I am about to go crazy.
i am sorry we have to go thru thks, we have same stuff here.
i get dizzy, hand shake sometimes and feel cold, worst is the palpitations when i make turns when i lie down.
my bp is a bit high for my age (22-120/80), sugar as well is fine. now i am waiting for my ENT results.
before i could go to mall and walk all day, drink on fridays or weekend. now it just scares me because i may have a sudden attack of dizziness and palpitation and shaky hands
hope we could get through this
I agree. I am 32 and have a son that just wants to do things and I feel like crap so much it's hard to enjoy it. I wish there was a magic pill that would make it go away
lack of potassium is one of the top answer i have seen in this page that goes the same symptoms we have and lack of vit d.
im so tired of this, specially when im at work and construction does a lot of stress it adds to my sick feeling.
At this point I will try anything. I work in an office and I am so scared that I will have an episode and there are all these people that sit next to me. It's just crazy that after I was on Zoloft all this started to happen.
did you stop taking those? i tried benadryl, some said it could ease my dizziness but it just triggers my attack again.
Yes I stopped after 6 days because it gave me panic attacks.
Go back to your doctor ask to see a specialist or consultant have you had a blood test, it makes me sick when doctors prescribe medication when they only think they know what it is. It doesn't sound like vertigo. Hope your feeling better soon .
I have had 3 separate blood test done and they told me that everything came back normal with them. I just wish they really knew what it is that keeps making me feel like this
Hi Kyle,
I agree with Marina, go back to your Drs and request to see a consultant. You can't go on like this.
Let eat us know how you get on.
all the best
Gloriana
What kind of consultant do I need? This is a new thing for me so I don't know who to go to.
Hi Kyle
You go back to your Drs and tell him/her you're not happy with your condition and nothing seems to work. As you're having dizziness etc and your ENT specialist told you it was something to do with your ear, then go back. What exactly did he give you for your ear? Can you remember what he said was wrong with your ear?
This is what you do you keep going back until you get results.
Try not to worry you'll get there in the end. Ok?
If you have anymore questions please come back. We are all here for you.
Let us know how you get on.
Gloriana
Hi there again Kyle I had a monover where they tilt you back and pull you so your head is in line with your body I was so sick for 2 weeks but hey it only returns now and again when I get a cold please keep going back to your doctor make demands if you have to
