PLEASE HELP! 😢

Brief history: 28 years old, male, 178 lbs (I workout and that's where most of my weight has come from), overall healthy (I do have Asthma & GERD).

So this is my problem, and I'm not sure at all what to do.

Over the past month, my throat has been "acting up", if you will.

I will randomly get a slight tickle/irritation....imagine eating Cheerios, you chew them well, but when you swallow the food the grains get stuck in your throat.

This feeling will randomly occur throughout the day and when it does I instantly become "alert" and start thinking about it. It feels like I'm choking or am about to.

My breathing remains fine. I have no wheezing. I don't feel any burn from heartburn.

Has anyone every experienced this before? It's like the tickle in your throat feeling before you have to cough. However, if I cough, there's nothing that comes out.

It's in the base of my throat (below my Adam's apple) and it feels like it could also resonate up the sides of my throat.

I initially blamed zegerid OTC for this problem as I saw a ton of people complaining of dry throat problems but I just feel that this is different than that.

I feel so very lost, excuse my language but; this sucks!

Help!

Hi Kyle,

I too get that horrible sensation in my throat.

Do you get the heavy tight feeling in your chest?

I do and I don't have heartburn pain only as described above. It's as if my wing pipe is restricted and somethings stuck. Then I get a sore throat! Everyday, am taking pantoprazole and isn't working at all

I am a runner, healthy weight. If anything my vascular weight is for a younger body 😊

I'm being tested currently as gp has diagnosed gastro reflux but trying to find out what's causing it. X

I'm currently going thru an "episode" as I have now begun to call it.

Just experienced the same "Cheerios"/hair in throat" initial clench/reflex and while I haven't gotten another one, I am currently out of whack.

I sit here writing this, my breathing is fine. Not wheezing. But I am very anxious at the moment. Occasionally some indigestion. I could take a Zantac but at this point, it hasn't helped before and won't help now. I'm not sure really what else to do. I even went as far to stick my finger down and see if maybe I actually did have something like a hair stuck. Nothing of course. I was actually more upset by that than anything else lol.

I tell people this feeling and they immediately say, "well you look fine". But, I'm not.

It's weird. I can go for a run. No problem. Lift weights. No problem.

I'm starting to wondering if it's something in my office.

You may have LPR, Not that a diagnosis helps!
