im totally freaking out and I'm the type of person to have really bad anxiety and stress myself out.. But here is what happened.. 9 days ago I had unprotected sex with a girl I didn't know so I guess you could say it was a one night stand. The day after we had sex I texted her and asked her if she was std free and she said last time she was checked she was I never asked when that last time was. She then tells me that she is going to get checked again because I made her paranoid. She tells me yesterday that she tested positive for genital herpes. In the process between when we had sex and her telling me this news a day or two after I felt tingling sensations on the tip of my penis and I had urinary retention. I got checked for chlamidia and gonerria and a uti(excuse my spelling) everything came back negative. I have never shown any symptoms before and have never had a tingling sensation for 9 days on the tip of my penis. I immediately went to planned parenthood and wanted to get tested for the virus also. The doctor asked me if she was showing any sores so I texted the woman and asked her she said she has never seen any symptoms and still hasn't seen any or felt any. The doctor told me to wait 3 months before I got tested. But right now I am freaking out because of this tingling sensation on the tip of my penis and about 4 days ago I got this little little what I think looks like a pimple on the left side of my groin. The doctor also told me that if she wasn't showing any signs that I have a 5% chance of contracting the virus from her.. If it's not herpes which I am praying it's not what could it be?? And is it true what the doctor said??? I am really doubting myself now and feel as if my life is over, i can't even tell anyone because I am so scared and don't know what to do I feel like life doesnt mean anything right now...
Who get tested if you have a pimple there it is probably it, I contracted herpes type 2 from someone who didn't have any symptoms or knew who had it.
Ok you have a couple things on your side,
1) you two only had sex once
2) its harder for a female to pass on HSV2 to a male.
In my opinion you should ask the girl what test was done to determine that she in fact had herpes. If it was an igM very unreliable, it was an igG that is the most accurate bloodtest. On your end i would request a type specific igG blood test at least for a baseline. It is soon so even if you contracted herpes it will probably show negative. But then redo the bloodtest in a couple weeks. Personally i had the PCR swab on a sore done- NEGATIVE igG test at 8 weeks -NEGATIVE. I will be doing another type specific igG test at 10 weeks 12 weeks 16 weeks and 6 months that is if one of them does not come up positive. Also herpes doesnt usually look like a pimple but more like a blister. Im thinking the tingling could be anxiety but im a regular person not a doc. Hope good things for you! Good luck!
I thing right now you're just going through a case of paranoia. I understand this is a serious virus but you can't know for sure until you get tested. What most people do not consider is the risk of asymptomatic shedding, where it is possible to spread the virus in the absence of symptoms. This is why many people who are sexually active are at a higher risk for infection. Despite this, you should try to do your research on any meaningful symptom you may have so that if you are infected, you will know how to treat yourself and if you're not you will know to what precaustions to take in the future.

No sorry im female and i actually even had a ulcer like sore down there. flu like symptoms and some pain after the sore was swabbed. What is the pimple like? Like it has a white head or like a blister? Is it just one? Are you experiencing flu like symptoms?
It's very small it looks a little bit red but it doesn't seem that if I were to pop it any fluid would come out. It's been there for a 4-5 days now. I'm actually going soon to get it checked because I am going crazy.. Should I be worried if it does look like a white head?
No cause a white head or pus looking is not typical for herpes at all!
sounds like she played you .. you dont disarm the fact of you having genital herpes from someone then all of the sudden you mention a std check and she has it ? it sounds ridiculous she has had it for the longest she just didnt want to come out and tell you about it..which is very selfish on her part.
on the other hand dont get to creeped out , sometimes you dont always show symptoms and you have herpes..
just wait it out time will tell. if you dont have any pain or anything strange happen to you before then .. then you should go get a blood test ran..
everything will be okay i seriously doubt she passed it to you especially since she didnt show any signs.. BUTTTT.
i got herpes and the person who infected me showed no signs what so ever.
it all depends.. you know what im saying ? the type 2 virus sheds if you dont have any current outbreak thats why suppressive medicine is thought to be taken to supress the shedding ..

I had tingling a day or 2 after protected sex. I had flu like symptoms, aches, lower back pain, and still no OB so now I have to wait a few more months for accurate testing if I don't get an OB soon. So it's like I'm in limbo but Im sure I have it. Sucks man. Definitely daunting .
I don't have any outbreaks either I don't think and just have had tingling.. I feel like I have it also it does suck man. Because we r in limbo waiting for an accurate result to be certain... I don't see myself getting out of this one..
Yeah I don't see myself getting out of this one neither. I'm a female, did everything right, don't sleep around, used protection, and now this. Like a bug F U to me. Ugh
You are freaking out without enough details or facts on hand. How was she tested, blood or swab? If blood, which test, IgG or IgM? If positive, which HSV type? Find out these answers first. Your pimple could well be just a pimple. If you're really paranoid, pay for a pcr swab. Most accurate swab test for herpes. Get them to break the pimple open if it's already healing.
I hope everything's works out for you! There is still hope for us! I'm going to try and forget about it unless I have an outbreak
I wish I could know this information the woman that had it tricked me most likely knowing the whole time she had it with never telling me. I just can't believe some people and how they want to impact a persons life so drastically without giving them the choice. She blocked my number because I was asking to many questions
Well, if she tested by blood, like I suspect, then she could easily have Type 1 due to cold sores, which is very common and often asymptomatic (even more so than genital herpes). It is not something people usually test for and don't always know that they have, so I wouldn't jump to conclusions without the facts. If she tested by IgM, it may not even be accurate.
The guy that has POSSIBLY given it to me (im waiting to test again) blocked me when i started asking him too many questions too. I would never do that to somebody
