Please if you can help in any way , I need it, Long term prescribing

Subutex and Loprazolam stopped immediately after 20 years

Posted 13 days ago

Please can anyone give me some advice, I am at an all time low and have no answers,

I have been prescribed 10mg  Subutex and 6mg Loprazolam ( benzo)  for twenty years, I was prescribed by my doctor and not under the control of any drug agencies, I worked  abroad much of the time and had gained the trust of my GP to prescribe 6 mths at a time if needed, Our town is now under a new drug team which seems to have all GP signed up.

My prescription for both has been stopped , and  I have been told I must go through the Drug team who say it will be three weeks minimum before a script will be available. I have begged please help me , this will set me back to a time I have nightmares about . I don't know how I am going to cope , and in shock that this can happen, Any help much appreciated

Try regular exercise but of still bad talk to your GP

All that I can suggest is to go to an emergency out of hours walk in clinic to see what they can do for you.

Hi Paul,  three weeks might seem like a lifetime but, it will pass and, with a little luck, you will be back on track.

Do you want to come off these drugs?  20 years is a long time to be on them.

Good luck

Sorry to hear you have been treated this badly,  I do suggest you request a double appointment with your GP to discuss this,  make clear the full implications this will have on your future well being.   Make clear them the impact this will have on your employment and your family ( if you have dependants ).   Three weeks without a medication you have taken for twenty years is potentially a dangerous situation, moreso if you are taken ill whilst abroad, as I am sure you are only to aware.

My sympathy and best wishes.
