Hi I'm Charlie and I'm 22 would just like to say if anyone is concerd about having bowel cancer then please stop worrying and listen to your gp
I was so convinced my symptoms were
Blood in stool
Adominal pain
Always bloated like always
And flat stools for about a mouth constantly
And lost about a stone in weight (no joke)
Colonoscopy came back as nothing wrong maybe a litttle touch of ibs, blood was due to a pile what passed and rest stress related,so please don't put your self threw so much torment like I did,it has ruined my life for the past 10 weeks so much so I just payed 1650 pounds for a person to say stop listening to your mind and listen to your gp lol
The actully Colonoscopy is nothing to worry about no pain at all, prep was the annoying part
In addition, colon cancer is very rare among young people. It normally occurs after the age of 50 if it's going to happen. That's why the medical society says to. Get your first colonoscopy at the age of 50 and then every 10 years after that if everything is OK. Every five years if you have a family history of it.
Hi Charlie, sorry that you've had 10 weeks of bad health anxiety, awful for you, but as a health anxiety suffer myself it's very hard to stop the mental chatter that you might have something really serious, so you done well to have it checked out for peace of mind although agree with Jan rare to have colon cancer so young. However I have known someone who developed colon cancer in their mid 30s, so always best to be have it checked if worried.
Hi Jan, know this isn't anxiety related but my husbands dad had bowel cancer and prostate cancer, my hubby asked his doctor if he could have any checks done as he may be higher risk( hubby is 52) doctor told him he couldn't do anything unless he himself started to have symptoms. Thought some doctors did precautionary tests after 50 if you had family history? ❤️
