HELP ME PLEASE.!

Hi anxiety is extremely powerful it can affect how your body functions.Sadly everything you have listed are very common anxiety symptoms.lt is not easy to come to terms with however you probably would benefit from some kind of talking therapy.Get your doctor to refer you and get the process started

Anxiety can do alot, trust me! I have had every symptom possible with anxiety im sure. What do you mean when you say constant dead arms? If you pay attention yoi might be tensing your shoulders up which decreases the circulation and pinches the brachial plexus in your neck where the bundle of nerves/arteries/veins are located which can cause your arms to feel weak, heavy numb feelong tingly etc.

Hi Mez, I can totally reassure you that you are not going crazy, anxiety can bring on a whole host of different symptoms all the ones you have mentioned are classic anxiety symptoms.

Anxiety disorder is totally different from "normal" levels of anxiety like you might get just before an exam, it's the "next level" as I tend to describe it, your suffering from unhealthy anxiety although it is perfectly harmless and won't do any damage whatsoever.

On a practical note have you been to see your GP to discuss your anxiety and what can be done for it?

You do need to seek some help.

I have suffered chronic anxiety for six years so do feel I have enough experience to comment.

Anxiety is like a glass filling up with water bit by bit, when the glass is full the anxiety manifests itself in many physical ways, nearly all of which I have experienced over the last six years.

Hands shaking, dizzy spells, head pain and weired bodily feelings can all be symptoms of anxiety along with palpitations, panic, and worry to name but a few.

I would suggest councelling will help to to understand why your symptoms can be a totally normal part of anxiety, even more so if you constantly worry about ghe symptoms (Health Anxiety)

Your Doctor will be able to prescribe you some meds to help you through this tough patch.

I hope my post helps you, stay strong

Thanks for your reply.! It's not just my arms it's my legs also they constantly feel like I have done a workout.!! I was just so scared cause of how numb my brain has gotten and how dumb I feel now.! I am so shocked this could be anxiety.! Thank you so much for taking the time to reply.!!

Will do thanks for the reply

Thank you so much for your reply.! Yeah I have seen my GP a little to much.! I have anxiety for 13 years and I have never experienced anything like what I am now.! It's terrifying.!

Your post did help me.! I am overwhelmed with people taking the time to reply to me.! Makes me feel understood.! I have had anxiety 13 years and I was always scared of counselling but it's destroying my life so I think it's a good option now.! My last option.!

Hi just read your post. Agree with all replies. Glad you got so many . Talking on here helps so much ,we know what this feels like. Feel if I told anyone else they would think I was crazy. Anxiety symptoms are crazy (?and scary ) we try to convince ourselves this can't be anxiety cos there's so much and so bad. In past I've been convinced I'm dying. Now after years l know I have to manage it like any illness. Glad your asking for advice here, not just sitting back and giving in( felt like that before. I still have bad patches but can have great times. Very frustrating, just wish there was a cure( doesn't every illness). Keep talking here especially when anxious , don't let docs fob you off, hope you feel more reassured there is hope. Talkbanytime❤️

Hi Mez, Just to confirm that I too have suffered all of the symptoms that you mention as well as others. They are all very 'normal' anxiety symptoms. You are definately not going crazy even though it might feel like it. When your anxiety system is activated it comes from a very basic part of the brain that is concerned with survival (the so-called reptilian brain). When activated it takes over your systems to protect you. Part of this process is to shut down a lot of your frontal cortex (the more 'modern' part of your brain) as it doesn't need you to think intellectually about whether a tiger is going to eat you, it just needs you to run! This is why it can be difficult to think clearly and rationally when very anxious. That part of your brain has been switched off temporarily. This can effect memory as well. Once you have returned to a non-anxiety state all this will be returned and no harm done. You will be okay.

Remember that fighting anxiety makes it worse. Allow yourself as much as you can to relax with the symptoms and allow yourself to be anxious. Nothing bad will happen to you, it is just a very uncomfortable feeling and is just nervous arousal.

Your anxiety system is on your side and will not harm you. It's job is to protect you.

As others have said, visit your doctor and get some counselling to support you.

I have found that it also helps to remember that you are not alone and you are not unique. There are literally hundreds of thousands of people feeling exactly as you do today. Anxiety disorders are very, very common. You will be okay.

Best Wishes
