Please tell me is this ibs

Ok so about 8 weeks ago I ended up with a kidney infection I was on antibiotics for 9 days.. slowly it began to creep round to my stomach lots of rumbling trapped wind the wind not escaping very well my stools are sometimes soft and sometimes a little constipated but not right after meals more some hours later.. The gas is mainly at night or when more noticeable. . I have a discomfort in upper stomach and ribs can be on one side then move to the other side this is most terrifying me is this gas,? I have no reflux.. I have been a little stressed and I do suffer from anxiety and back pain from the birth of my son 5 years ago just feels like everything is out of line chiropractor no good .. I am 5 and half months post partum with my little girl. sometimes the pain can feel musculoskeletal as it may start when I move.. I feel ok when lying down.. I have had bloods h pylori ultra sound on kidneys..

I'm just stumped as to what this annoying pain is I don't want to put it down to anxiety unless a few people say that's what they think it may be.. Please help 36 year old female. One Doctor has given me something for ibs but she didt check me over does this sound like typical ibs.. hugs to all

Pain is there frequently and I do feel like I pass stools more frequently to 3/4 ?times a day like not emptying fully.😯

Hi there,  you sound exactly like me,  for months now ive been suffering with loose bowels  some times (D)  ive had the loud grumbling in stomach and abit crampy,  doctors just said  could be ibs   i recently changed doctors   who sent off my bloods,  all clear apart from kidney one  which they said they take more blood in 3 months time,   i take omeprazole   and been told because im on them that i would have to have a endoscopy to see if i have hpylori  as they cant take stool sample  and because i had hpylori before  it will still show in blood test,  i also have degenarated disc disease so have problems  with my back from time to time,   But the gas in my stomach is horrible so embarrasing , Im currently trying the fodmap diet  but dont seem to be helping with the gas,   i think thats were the pains are coming from.   good luck hun i hope we both get answers xx

Hi Patricia

Yes my back pain plays a big part how did they diagnosis you with the disc problem .. my physio keeps fobbing me off but chiropractor said my back was really inflamed.

As for the ibs can anyone else relate to my symptoms ,???

Took a long time to be diagnosed with disc started suffering with back pain after my daughter was born 16 years ago some nights I just couldn't sleep through pain. Doctors prescribed tablets never worked. Injections for pain relief never worked. I lost the sensation in my left foot due to nerve from my back so doctor sent me for mri scan which revealed disc disease . Exercise and strong pain killers help but never really fully out of pain.xx

Hi Nichola,

The gas probaly came from anti-biotic. Have you tried to take probiotic and stop drinking coffee or tea or alcohol which aggrave the pain. Stop eating fibre. I think the antibiotic causes you indigestion therefore causing gas. I have been sufferring gas trap and bloating. I thought I have IBS it turns out I have Crohn diseases for my cramping pain accompany with bouts of diarear. Each of us is different . Better ask doctor but to my opinion it is the antibiotic. You can take charcoal to get rid of flatulence or mylanta but if you have diarhear then dont use Mylanta for it contains sorbitol a laxative. Good luck and I do feel for you my daughter is the same age with you and she too suffers IBS. To me she may have Crohn diseases but she refused that factor and not going to have colonoscopy. Her symptoms is in remission for she changed diet. So if you are IBS change diet. xxx

Could be IBS.  Antibiotics can upset stomach.  Keep a food diary to check for intolerances but also visit your doctor for tests.
